"This is incredible." Tasha nodded, but her eyes were focused on something else. She sat down on the bed and brought out a book from under her pillow, and then glanced back at Storm with a n unreadable expression. “Why are your eyes purple?” She whispered, clutching the book to her chest. Storm frowned at the question. “Genetics” She replied with a shrug although she knew it was deeper than that. She actually never knew the real meaning behind her eyes. But judging from the way her parents had always seemed to over react and hide it, Storm was sure that there was more to it.

All the furniture in what was our living room had been swept away, and the house was bare. In the next second, the scenery outside the window caught his eye. His pupils constricted as he plodded forward step by step. After the storm was clear skies, now a kind, pale blue. The world was bright, with faint traces of a rainbow lingering in the distance. He reached his hand forward, but it met no resistance. He advanced further forward until one foot was hanging over the void. It was then that it dawned on him that there should have been a window there.

Empty bottles littered his feet, with amber liquid soaking into the rug in dark stains. At the sound of the door, he lifted his head. Moonlight poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating his bloodshot eyes. Those eyes, once sharp as an eagle's, now held nothing but exhaustion. "Why didn't you stop me?" Emma's grip tightened on her phone. The screen still showed the headline about the Coleman Group's crashing stock. Wesley gave a low chuckle, his Adam's apple bobbing. He tried to stand, staggered, and braced himself against the coffee table. "This is what I owe you."

When the tablet was handed to me, I signed without hesitation. The gate slid open. The moment I stepped inside, I felt him. Onyx stood at the far end of the pen, dark fur rough and uneven, his body tense like a coiled wire. His eyes locked onto mine. He charged. I barely had time to react, throwing myself sideways as his claws slammed into the sand where I had been standing.

Chapter One Cassandra's POV New Orleans, Louisiana "Good morning.Welcome to Totally cute. How can I help you?" I said as two handsome young men walked in. One is fairly tall, dressed in a black tuxedo with black long hair that was properly arranged at the back of his head. Piercing blue eyes stare at me, almost daring me to look away. The other, who seemed like his butler, is a little shorter than his employer. He was dressed in a brown suit and had blonde hair. Both are undoubtedly handsome.

Onyx calls to them as Aiden closes the door behind him. Onyx turns his attention to me while controlling his laughing. “Ready to prep the party?” “Ready.” I smile. Clara and Brett are in the yard with Lobo when we exit. “There is my best little friend!” Onyx calls out as he tosses Lobo into the air and catches him. His happy squeal can be heard by anyone nearby. “We have something for you two to see,” Onyx states as he tickles Lobo again. “My turn!” I demand to hold Lobo as Onyx struggles to remove the picture from his pocket and hand it over. “Oh!” Clara has no other words as tears of joy roll down her face. “Can I hug you?” She requests, and I nod in agreement. The nerves are starting to kick in. I am hit with the scent of lemongrass when I walk into Onyx’s room. There are three tables set up for us to get massages. Two hunky looking masseuse and a woman for Storm, you know she has a mate and all, they are awaiting us with cucumber water. I decided to go with a deep tissue massage, goddess knows I need it.
