------ The bus stopped and one by one everyone got down. They gasped as they saw the place. It was dark, and a small mountain is covered with fog. There is a foul smell hitting their nose. Small whispers, moans, and chattering sounds are being heard as if they are being spoken right inside their ears. "Some of you maybe have come here once, while for some this might be the first time. So let me explain about this Monster lair contains small kinds of monsters such as goblins, orcs, trolls, gnomes, kobolds…and some other creatures.

Darkness answered. My shimmering essence spread outward like a storm. Dozens of mutants froze. Bound. Restricted. Crushed. But there were too many. Far too many. Elias raised his hand. The shadows obeyed. The world darkened. The attack became overwhelming. Monsters came from every direction. Massive creatures. Twisted creatures. Dead creatures. Things that should never have existed. I cut through them. Destroyed them. Shattered them. Yet more arrived. Again. And again.

Then it devolved into pure, unadulterated chaos. The interior was a cathedral of decay. Rusted machinery cast long shadows in the light filtering through broken roof panels. The monsters were… wrong. They looked like boars, but their skin was scaled and glistening, their tusks dripping with a saliva that smoked where it hit the concrete. Their eyes were milky white, blind but somehow tracking us. Bryan was in his element, launching fireballs and laughing maniacally as he kited three of them around a giant, dead loom. “C’MON, UGLIES! RIGHT HERE!”

The sub-basement of Vane Biotics was a tomb of glass and pressurized air. I stood in the center of the "Sequence 5" nursery, the silver locket clutched in my palm so tightly the metal was beginning to bite into my skin. Outside the acrylic walls, the dark water of the Atlantic churned, a silent witness to the monsters Victor Vane had created. "Intruder Alert. Biometric purge in forty-five seconds," the AI’s voice echoed, cold and rhythmic, through the white corridor.

“All of them found on the outskirts. Burnt. But not by sunlight. It wasn’t natural. The smell lingers even after they’re moved. Like scorched flesh and ash soaked into the ground.” Rina made a face. “God.” “And their eyes…” I continued, swallowing, “They don’t rot the way human corpses do. But these… it was like dust had settled deep behind the sockets. Like whatever got to them drained something out of them first.” Rina shivered slightly. “Okay, now I’m definitely sleeping with the light on.” I smirked. “You always do.” She shrugged. “Yeah, but now it’s justified.” I hesitated, then added, “Leonidas offered me a seat on his council. Right after the third body turned up.”

Then, with a sigh, I rolled up and walked to the window, peeking out just to see if the world was as weird as I felt. Outside, a bunch of girls were hanging out on the grass. Only… they didn’t look normal. One had shimmering silver scales on her arms that caught the sun like tiny mirrors. Another was floating off the ground, giggling as she tossed sparks from her fingertips. There was even one with sharp little horns poking through her hair, chasing two others who shrieked and laughed like it was the most natural thing in the world.

I’m not supportive, I’m deadly. Her house is decrepit. The smell hits me on the way up the driveway. This place isn't suitable for human life. Rotted meat wafts from the trash can, and my nose is all wolf picking up subtle musks and gross maggot-covered food items. Bodies of the white creatures dance atop the wet trash can lid.
