I released him and dropped onto the couch with uneven breaths. "You act more diplomatic and sarcastic than Socrates." He settled into his chair calmly while looking over his many papers. "While you steal my smiles against my will, and I've forgotten how to smile." I stretched across the couch, facing him with my legs propped up on the armrest. I twisted my lips with exaggerated sympathy while playing with my front curls. "Poor Alexander Roth forgot how to smile, as if all these precious ships of yours sank to the bottom of the sea." I rolled my eyes.

Oscar kept yapping behind me, then broke free and charged in. He sauntered to the center. "Hey, everyone! I'm Oscar Kaufman. Hoping you guys will give me a shot at your company. My abilities are exceptional. You won't be disappointed!" Silence ensued. Then bursts of laughter rippled through the crowd, their faces full of scorn.
