If Noah had seen him arrive, seen the way he limped slightly, seen the exhaustion on his face… what else had he seen?
“Fuck,” Nathan whispered, closing the email with a sharp click before he could read the body. He switched to another tab, trying to focus on anything else, but the words burned behind his eyes.
Come to think of it, he really hadn’t seen Noah today, or his commanding presence in meeting. Was he hiding somewhere, watching? Had he put someone on Nathan—someone to report back?
Nathan leaned back in his chair, his hands pressed to his face, breathing slowly through his fingers. He should be scared. He knew he should be terrified.
