I don't understand. "Do you understand what Alpha Kennedy means?" Kiana steps up to me. She's dressed in plait and cargo pants, similar to last time. Her hair is pulled back in an intricate braid, revealing a tattoo that looks something like a triquetra. "The packs all have a responsibility to their Wolves. And Solari has every intention of holding them to those responsibilities."

“Give it some time. They haven’t had enough time to see the change. We’ll explain on Sunday when we answer the summons.” Was she supposed to not know that they were talking about the pack? Aislen wondered. Had there been a group agreement that they wouldn’t talk about it directly, but they would talk around it as if everyone knew the key words that were missing from the conversation? A Triquetra secret code, she thought sourly. Or were they acknowledging that she did know, and would know the secret code? But, if that were so, why use one at all?

Selene had risked everything to bring this to light, and now it was time to use it. The murmurs in the room quieted as I raised my hand. “Brothers and sisters,” I began, my voice echoing through the hall. “We gather here not as divided factions, but as a pack—wolves who have lived together, fought together, and bled together. Today, I present to you the truth—a truth that has been hidden in the shadows for too long.” I gestured to Merrin, who stepped forward and spread the documents across the table for all to see. Gasps rippled through the room as the gathered pack members leaned in, their eyes widening at the damning evidence.

“If you do have to come for her… don’t just keep her alive.” I frown. “Meaning?” “Give her a pack,” he says. “A real one.” I glance out the window again at my men, my family. “I can do that.” “I know,” Fang replies. “That’s why I called you.” The call ends not long after that. I lower the phone slowly, my reflection staring back at me in the dark glass of the window. The wolf beneath my skin is restless now, pacing hard, insistent. Somewhere out there is a woman who doesn’t know her world is about to burn.

Luna Piper comes back with a laptop and puts it down on the table in front of me, and sits down. “Reed says in the document that there is a file called “PACKS.” And then they are put in countries. Under America, we find the folder called Alliances. That’s the ones we invite.” Luna explains, and I quickly find what we need. I open the pack's email and start typing in all the emails we need to send the invite to. Including the one pack we are not in alliance with, Alpha Daniel. Then I find the file with the nicely crafted invitation and put it into the email.

It was so awkward to say the least. "This urgent meeting was called because of the sudden shake of the first pack. Now, let me ask all of you. Did your individual pack feel the quake?" The leader of the third pack spoke. "Yes, Alpha Whadh. I believe we all did." "Is he speaking for all of you?" My eyes swept over the faces of the leaders still bowing their heads. "We all felt it, Alpha Whadh." They all chorused a sound answer. While they stood there, I studied their chopped arms and ears of those defaulters who came to ride on me. They thought they could dethrone me. Like…

“I will get onto it. Don’t worry, Rhett, I’ll clean up your mess. It’s not the first time, the pack’s cleaned up after the Triquetra.” “It isn’t?” Rhett’s astonishment faded swiftly into horror. “There are more?” “Hmm. You boys are quite sloppy. The pack has paid for two abortions so far.” “Oh,” Rhett was shocked. “We didn’t know.” “Of course not, Rhett. The pack looks after it’s Triquetra. Something the Triquetra should keep in mind. I have a meeting I must go to. It’s been pleasant to hear from you.” The call disconnected, buzzing into Rhett’s ear.

A few moments later, Zev enters with the pack safe and places it at the back of the office. “Zante wants you to look after the cash for the pack. We aren’t sure how much is in there. The code is 1569. We are heading into the city to check on some construction that’s taking place. We will be back this evening”. He must have sensed my arousal and I watch him leave hurriedly and I move towards the safe as soon as the door closes. I press the number in and it opens. The smell and sight of piles of cash in there sends me wild. I grab a handful and run it over my skin.

He asked, pointing an accusing finger at his beta. “No, alpha,” Beta answered, his gaze lowered in fear, he hated when alpha Damon got like this, never ends well for anyone. “I thought so.” He snorted, getting up to face the floor. He had to do something, there just had to be a way around it somehow. “What pack did you say she belonged to?” He asked as an idea sparked up in his head. “The mist wood pack.” The beta will answer, his face scrunched up, confused as he tried to understand where alpha Damon's mind was going.
