Shadows of Heart : The Awakening

Shadows of Heart : The Awakening

But as she moved closer, her stomach churned. One of the trees was sick. Its bark was blackened and cracked, seeping a tar-like substance that dripped onto the glittering ground. Its leaves were brittle, some falling in slow, sorrowful spirals. Dark veins twisted around its roots, choking it as they spread outward, threatening to poison the other two trees. The second tree pulsed with life but seemed strained, its light flickering as if struggling to keep the corruption at bay. The third tree stood strong, radiating a golden warmth that gave Zoe a fleeting sense of comfort.

The Alpha's Regret: Chasing Back His Rejected Luna

The Alpha's Regret: Chasing Back His Rejected Luna

Even I flinch. Because what we’re staring at isn’t just damage—it’s devastation. The tree in the picture is completely blackened and hardly recognizable, rotten and split down the middle like it had been struck by a festering disease that just kept feeding on it until the poor tree couldn't endure anymore and gave up. The land around the tree is scorched, and the soil is stained with something dark—almost like bad oil—but the stain shimmers strangely red under the light. Thanox. What if he's behind this?

But there was one thing he'd forgotten, and she kept encountering it every time she rubbed her cleft against him. Sitting up, she straddled his waist and reached behind to unsnap his pants, needing to feel him inside her, skin to skin. A flash of reflected light caught her attention, and she froze mid-motion, staring. Yellow eyes, with irises of deep red, regarded her from the shadows of the trees. Sensing something amiss, Parker opened his eyes. "What is it, baby?" He'd no sooner asked than he stiffened beneath her. In a flash, he'd rolled and gotten up on one knee, placing her behind him.

The Long-lasting Tree

The Long-lasting Tree

First of all, people died - numerous people - in the great rebellion, then the clan's leadership fell into the hands of strangers and the new education system found its way in, and now, more than anything, the new faith was fastening its grip. But the differences between the two religions were subtle and confounding. While the new faith upheld the ideology of an invisible tree and its branches, at the center of the clan's aboriginal religious system too was a tree called the long-lasting tree that had now however been cut down. These two trees were claimed to have powers. The Blue-eyed said their tree was the son of God and had its powers from God while the conservatives held that their tree

A book to pick from the shelf. Felt i was reliving times here, those wonderful moments in the history of a people. The Blue-eyed's intention with the bell and the tree's inexplicable powers are itchy... felt like I just wanted to know it all. This is a five-star novel, can't hesitate to say. ???

I'm greatly enjoying this book. I fell in love with Okayo, such a stupid thing though😅, but i love his courage and attentiveness to issues. Won't relent until i finish the book. This is truly African. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Queen of Supernatural

Queen of Supernatural

Unknown POV In a forest no longer mapped by the living, a child stood beside a sleeping tree. She didn’t blink. She didn’t breathe. She touched the bark. And the tree split down the middle—not broken, but open. Inside, something pulsed. Not light. Not heat. But power. The child whispered: “I remember what the others forgot.” And the forest bowed.

The Night Known As You

The Night Known As You

" ..... I'll just skip the rest of it. No wonder he's so confident in his plan." I say to myself as I land on the island where the Grand Tree is. I look up in awe at how huge this tree was, I wonder if it touching the heavens. But there was a lot of mist around and I couldn't see beyond it. I casually walk up to the tree, and put down Terry's satchel, stretching a bit before bringing out my power to possess the Grand Tree. Almost immediately branches of the tree bend down and attack me, but since I was in my phantom form, all the attacks went right through me.

Mr. President's Lost Wife

Mr. President's Lost Wife

Therefore, even though she felt guilty towards Sky, she still showed her enthusiasm. "Wow, look at those spiky trees. Aren't they very beautiful?" Sky raised her head, checking out what was lined up at the foot of the mountains. "Yes, they look different from the trees in Kalimantan, similar to the ones in Flagstaff. Tall trees with pointy leaves." "Your observations are very sharp, Honey. Pine trees are native to the northern hemisphere. However, some of their species can survive in extreme conditions. Because of that, we can find pine trees in various ecosystems, such as rainforests and even deserts."

Just like the other readers. I cried so much because of the father & daughter. It's saddening but also heartwarming. It's a great book. . I enjoyed Ed, Alice & Sky's adventure Now, looking forward to Sky, Louis & Emily's own adventure.

Finished this sweet and relaxing story. Ed really behaved like a dick so his motive doesn't hold up. Sometimes a bit too elaborate so I skipped a bit but Sky is no doubt a marvelous kid. I was curious about Alice's mindset which was not really explained but Sky made up a lot. Worth reading!

The King’s Possession

The King’s Possession

I ask, even though I already know. Tai shifts, his footprints leaving marks on the ground before us. “Dead matter, leaves and so forth. I could have torn it down, but I like it.” “You like a bunch of dead trees?” I question, watching warily as he drags a finger between the rivets of the trunk of a tree, pulling it back to show me the creamy mix of ash. I’m trusting him, believing that this isn’t going to kill me. For all I know, he could be immune to this, and in five years, I’ll feel the affects of this devastating landscape.

Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha

I’d seen drawings of it in books, myths, legends, but never like this. “Xaden…” My voice came out barely audible. “Is it true? The prophecy? The saviour? The dying tree?” He inhaled slowly. “Yes,” he said at last. “All of it.” The Tiger king didn't lie about that at least. “The Life Tree is dying,” he continued, stepping toward the carving. “Its roots are spread to every corner of the world. Just like this one. Its power fed magic into the land, into us. It was the balance. The source. The promise.”

Arabelle and The Cursed Kingdom

Aegolus elaborated. "Okay, no one is asking," Arabelle murmurs. "Are you saying anything?" the Prince inquired. The lovely lady shook her head quickly. "Is that so? Then I'll make my request," he added. "In this part of the forest!" The creature pointed to the eerie, seemingly dead and dark woods not far from the castle, this boundary of the Flammeus Kingdom and the Red mountain. "You will find here the tree of Καρπός παραμής (Karpós Alítheias) or better known by the name fruit of truth," said the Prince.
