I said, following him down the hall toward Logan’s room where I could hear the two of them laughing behind the closed door. Talon knocked softly before pushing the door open. “Alright, boys, time to settle down. Lights out in ten minutes.” Logan groaned from where he was sprawled on the floor with a comic book in hand. “Aw, Dad, we’re not even tired yet!” “Don’t care,” Talon said, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed. “It’s a school night, and I’m not dealing with you dragging your feet in the morning. Ten minutes. Then bedtime.”

With consideration towards school, our group is considered a training group and we only patrol from ten at night to three in the morning over the weekend while we attend school Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. As we get closer to three in the morning the more I find myself yawning and fighting the call of sleep. Something about the noise, the hurried, repeated clang of objects against the metal bin that draws my attention back to the counter. It’s obvious that Jessa is very upset, frantic really, and it has not escaped the attention of Dr. Pierce or my father. “Jessa, it’s important that you calm down. Due to the increasing headache, Petra chose to turn off all the lights and raise the room's cooling temperature before attempting to close her eyes, hoping that when she woke up, everything would be better. I wanted to establish a structured bedtime routine, and after much coaxing and a promise of a cookie, Liam finally agreed. Jim helped him get ready for bed while I tidied the living room. As I finished, I waited for Mr. Crawford, who was late. It was already ten at night, and Liam had glanced at the door a few times, waiting for his daddy. While waiting for Mr. Crawford, I dozed off on the sofa. I was jolted awake by someone calling my name, and when I opened my eyes, I saw Mr. Crawford looking both tired and hot. I smile back. “Well we better head to bed. We’ve got multiple shifter trainings tomorrow. Back to business as usual.” Dad stands and offers a hand to Mom to help her up. “Goodnight my baby,” Mom says as she kisses my cheek. She quickly whispers in my ear, “and make sure you’re down for breakfast at 8 in the morning.” She pulls away and winks. “Night, Bray,” Dad says, ushering Mom to their room. “Goodnight.” I head to my room and watch TV for a little while, hoping to get tired. After a little while, I hear my phone buzz. It’s almost midnight according to my alarm clock. I check it just in case.

Replies Dad. "Well, next time, we will do what Pete asked and just warn them. Asking them for our private time for a 'social engagement.' Ask them to make plans away for the weekend." Mom says. "Okay. Now, let's go to bed. Pete's right, I'm tired." Breathes Dad. "Yes, Dear," Mom says with a giggle. "To sleep, Pam." "Of course, Patton." They slipped into bed and slipped easily off to sleep, not knowing I had overheard their cryptic conversation.
