Tiana reached out; Pascal took her hand, squeezing tight.
“How was school?” she asked.
“Good,” he said. “We learned about planets today. And I drew a rainbow for you. It’s on my desk.”
Tiana glanced at the desk, sure enough, a colorful drawing of a bright rainbow arching over a green hill, with seven vivid stripes and little yellow stars scattered around it like happy sprinkles. “It’s beautiful, baby. Thank you.”
Pascal beamed, “I made the purple extra bright because purple is your favorite, right?”
