She clasps her hands nervously. Penelope walked slowly down the hall. In spite of her gentle dress, she patrolled everyone like a queen on an outing. She put her hands on her belly again, as if there was a round belly somewhere -- but there wasn't. There was only her flat belly, and she rubbed it gently against her white dress, looking as gentle as a real mother, and then she announced: "The father is an alpha from the Black Valley Pack, Charles Maclean!" There was a deathly silence.
