I had no option than to speak up because four hours from now, I’ll be a filthy mess. “I THINK I AM ON MY PERIOD” I said in a rush. Jericho gave me a big frown, obviously confused about what I said. I had to repeat myself for Jericho to hear and that made him frown even more. To my surprise, he burst out laughing. He laughed so hard till his cheeks became pink. “Seriously! What’s so funny,” I yelled “I’m sorry,” his voice was breaking as he was trying to stop laughing. “That just sounds funny. Who the hell doesn’t mark the days of their menstrual cycle huh? You’re so full of surprises, aren’t you?” He joked but I was really in no mood for humor now.

He told me a funny story about one of his executives sending an email with the wrong attachment, a cat meme instead of the quarterly report. I told him about the latest drama in my study group someone accidentally calling the professor “daddy” in class. He grinned. “Sounds like a good time.” “It was mortifying for her,” I laughed. “But kind of hilarious.”

he replied with a big sigh. It was at least a good hour before the jokes settled down. It would've ended sooner, but someone downloaded an app to combine their photos to see what their children would look like and the jokes started all over again. Eventually, they got bored and moved on to other things; the occasional joke did come up, but it was mild in comparison to what they had to hear before. Krista and Cameron both made jokes of their own so they could at least be part of the joke and show it doesn't bother them.

I love it when Jorge smiles at me. We were laughing about my latest pay in Cards Against Humanity. The comedian on stage was pretty good, cracking jokes about everything from bad dates to the weird things people do at the grocery store. I glanced over at Sarah, and every time she laughed, it was like a little weight lifted off my chest. Halfway through, the comedian launched into a bit about couples, poking fun at all the little things people do when they’re comfortable around each other. I leaned over to her, smirking. “That’s us,” I whispered. “You know, minus the weird grocery stuff.” “Oh, please,” she shot back, rolling her eyes. “You’re the one who insists on checking every single expiration date like it’s a life-or-death decision.”

The hosts were setting the mood, and slowly they got involved in the fun. "Hahaha!! Have you heard it?" Tanvi said while trying to control her laughter. "The restaurant joke was hilarious." Riaan gave a Colgate ad smile while his eyes were gleaming. "Ah!!! This flames joke." They held their cheeks while laughing. After a while, "Hum do Hamara Ek policy!!" Riaan held his stomach while giggling hard. Tanvi is rolling off while chuckling hard. "Omg!! The jet airways joke... I can't control it anymore." Tanvi and Riaan both burst out snickering.

I mimicked zipping my mouth shut, winking over at him. "That right there. Don't do that?" I laughed, knowing that I couldn't help it. People without a sense of humor drove me crazy. How can anyone go through life without silly jokes and laughing about it? Give me a break. Luis quickly got out and I followed right behind him. I had a feeling a lot of my co workers would be here tonight and I wasn't exactly ready to meet them under these circumstances. I've had an extremely long weekend with little sleep and I'm sure it was evident.

As we reach home, I behold myself to receive some lame one-liner about skipping classes.
