Her phoenix claws shimmered into existence—long, sharp, curved talons glowing with molten light.
“I don’t get fancy fangs,” she teased, her voice thick with heat, “but I’ve got my own tricks.”
Tyler’s chest rose and fell heavily as he bared his neck for her, fully trusting.
“Do it.”
She pressed her claws over his skin and dragged them lightly—purposefully—just below the curve of his collarbone. The magic flared the second her claws broke the surface. A soft hiss escaped him, but he didn’t flinch. She drew a symbol only phoenixes would know—an eternal flame enclosed in protective wings.
