I moved closer, my steps were slow and almost reverent, and I gradually picked it up. The surface was cool against my palm, yet a strange warmth spread through my fingers, up my arm, and straight into my chest. I stared into its depths, searching for something, just anything.

“He’s just been sleeping… for too long.” He walked over to the built-in bookshelf on the left wall. His fingers ran along the spines with precision until he pulled out a thick black-covered book: Beyond Chaos and Order – Reflections on the Essence of Power. Susan frowned. “You brought me here to read philosophy?” “Of course not.” He opened the book in the middle, revealing a small hollow carefully carved between the pages, and from it he took out a single photograph. “I brought you here to meet someone.” He handed her the image with care. Susan held it with both hands, as if holding a piece of something she didn’t know was missing.

"Fine, sorry." The purple stone catches the light, glowing with a deep, inner fire. The silver chain is freezing, just like the book's clasp, but the pages themselves are starting to radiate a strange heat. It feels like the book is breathing. It is alive in a way that makes the hair on my arms stand up. Sombra pads over to me, her blue eyes fixed on the jewelry. "What is the plan?" "I think I have to touch them together." I take a shaky breath and lower the amethyst pendant onto the center of the blank page. The room goes dead silent. The air feels thick, like I am underwater. I can see dust floating in the sunlight, but the particles are not moving. Everything is frozen.

A first edition of Meridian's Bestiary, one of only three known copies, lay in the fireplace, its charred edges still smoking faintly. I crouched beside a toppled shelf, running my thumb over the embossed title of a fallen book: On the Nature of Forgotten Gods. The sheer breadth of knowledge in this room made my chest tighten. Histories of dead civilizations. Treatises on magic even the scholars feared to practice. Accounts of creatures that should have stayed myth. And as I stood in the midst of the wreckage, breathing in the scent of ink and blood and broken things, I understood why someone would take her.

Looking at their surrounding, there was a fire furnace burning profusely as if something was added to it, as they kept incarnating the spell book on the ground in front of the furnace lifted itself from the ground and gradually started turning pages on it own and soon a particular page tore out from the book and fell inside the furnace of fire, immediately the piece of book burnt down the fire quenched and the two women opened their eyes. The person she recognized to be the owner of her body bent over to the furnace and picked up a substance that appeared inside the furnace. She smiled and said "The greatest dark stone." “You’re not making any sense, and besides, we have no reason to believe you without proof.” Ismene turned and waltzed away from the grand desk at the center of the cavernous room. She glided over to one of the many shelves, her footsteps all but silent. The tome she plucked shimmered brightly, covered in a sheen of liquid gold and pure light. The moment my eyes locked in on it, I wondered how I could’ve missed the thing to begin with. It’s pages were sprayed with a metallic gold sheen the same shade as the whorls on the cream cover. While I couldn’t make out the title, I could feel the magic pulsating from within, washing the cavern in warmth.

Oisin smiled down at Seraphina. Placing the stone down on the table for the other mages to marvel at, Seraphina took to looking around the room to find what else had been revealed by the syphoning spell. A large blue and gold leather-bound book caught her attention on one of the shelves. An unexplainable, almost magnetic pull drew her to it. Fingers slightly trembling, she pulled the book out and turned it over to read the cover. ‘Le haghaidh mo iníon’ She ran her fingers over the gold imprinted font, her breath hitched in her throat.

He asked. "Yeah, sure." I hand them to him and he glances at each one of them, it allowed me to look at his face and I noticed he had long lashes and a straight nose, he is so handsome. "These are a good book, the author is a great philosopher." He told me and I smile like a dummy, this is one thing you do when you start falling in love. "You did good in the riddles, I was impressed by how many you answered correctly." His eyes danced with a smile as he stares at me.

I didn't want to watch that unravel in front my eyes. While I quickly scuttle to my room, I find Ethel in the hallway. "Thank heavens I have found you. I have been looking for you." Ethel mutters gaining my attention. "There is something I think that might help." she pulled me to Evanna's study which was just at the end of the hallway. "Here," Ethel pointed at the covered big book with a golden cover. "Do you think it can help me locate the stone?" I ask anxiously. "I think so. This book has been with Evanna for as long as I know and I think it can help." she pursues her lips.

Under normal circumstances, unless the book was stored in a mysterious cave like the Supreme Peak’s Moonview Cave, it was a guarantee that all things imbued with the user’s essence would diminish with time. “Wow, just my luck for me to always bump into the Winged Serpent School people,” said Zephyr with a forced smile. He carefully flipped open the book and started to read from it. The more he read, the more his expression changed. After fifteen minutes, he decided this book should not exist in this world and so proceeded to crush it into dust with his power.
