Phoenix Books Novels & Stories

They were all boring financial books as well as some management books. Just as I was about to give in, I raised my head and discovered a few novels on the top of the bookshelf, Phoenix’s novel. “Joy of life, Lowering the bid…” All of Phoenix’s novels are here. I blinked my eyes and thought in my mind. ‘Who put this here? He was a reader of Phoenix?’ I reached out to get the book, but I failed. And then I tiptoed and finally managed to reach the book. However, I was unable to take it down and instead put the book away.

The people were writing their story at the Phoenix Center. The library at the Phoenix Center was like the heart of the building. It had arched windows that looked out at the North Slope. The green light from the vineyard poured in. Lit up the shelves. The shelves were filled with books about farming, old legal papers and handwritten notes about the soil. The air smelled like the cedar beams and the coffee that Sarah had brought from the Nairobi highlands.

They were barely alive so I took them in and treated them, after 6 months they asked me to be their clan leader, because like a pack Phoenix are strong together even if they don't go berserk after leaving the clan they still need one. She stared at the empty space and the huge shelves of books. "What next, Phoenix?" she said, walking towards the bookshelves. "Walk to the thirteenth shelf on your right. You will find books on poison," Phoenix said, leading her to the shelf. "Good, pick the fourth book at the left side corner of the shelf," Aurora counted the books and grabbed the book. Boldly written on it was "The Potions for Poison." "How did you know that such a book exists here?" Aurora asked as she flipped through the pages.

~Ginevra~ I wonder where Anabel always goes every day. She left me again today. I was bored. Phoenix couldn’t even lift my spirit today. At least, it can’t talk like humans do. I headed to Emiliano’s room. Phoenix followed me behind. I opened the door and walked to the shelf side. I picked the “Wandering Falcon” book to read. I have always been throwing away my face from the book since I told myself I was going to read it. I never found the chance to. Now boredom pushed me back to it. Phoenix wandered across the room. I was done in the room and headed out. Phoenix was standing close to the closet, sticking its head under it.

Unlike the rest of us who had others to comfort us, no one wanted anything to do with them, not trusting them after they attacked us with The Mean Ones. Emmi’s idea of letting Phoenix tell us if they’re lying is genius. Phoenix does seem to have an understanding of things that the rest of us do not. I don’t know if it’s because she’s a phoenix and is, therefore, more attuned to the world, or if it’s because she’s lived so many lives, but she does feel and know things that the rest of us don’t.

He huffs and kisses her temple, “Can I show them the book?” She looks at him, “There’s a section on pregnancy, maybe it’ll help.” She nods and he gets up and finds the book in their bags and stands to one side and tries to find the section he’d seen before. Serena scoffs, “If it’s about pregnancy, I know it all.” He sighs, “This is about Phoenixes, including their pregnancies. It might be different information.” She looks up, then at the book, then nods,

They surrounded a bulky man with curly brown hair who sat on the wooden chair near the door. Mr Walter stood near him. "Good evening everyone! I welcome you all, to the grand opening of this bookstore. Thank you for coming here. We have a very special guest today here with us. This is Mr Luca Alexandro, the famous paranormal investigator. He chose our store to release his first book."

Closing the book, I place it on the nightstand as I let out another sigh. “What the fuck is wrong with the Phoenixs?”, I ask out loud. “Everything.”, came an answer.

Phoenix looked down at the burning bodies and with a sweep of her hand extinguished the flames. “The greed of Ptakkagaris,” she said under her breath, her red mouth pressed into a thin, hard line. “And they left no blood for me to take.” She walked around Ezra’s body and came to a stop in front of Maggie’s dying body. Her red brows shot up and her eyes shone with interest. “What is this now?” she wondered aloud as she bent to examine the blackened body. Maggie remained rooted to the spot. The goddess was right in front of her, only two feet away, examining her past dying self. Phoenix cocked her head and twitched her ear.
