All I Want Is My Lecturer.

All I Want Is My Lecturer.

I replied calmly. He picked up a poem collection and opened it, "We are going back to yesterday's poem that was written by June Jordan. Write out what you think the poem is all about." He told me. He gave me the book and I stared at the poem, I glanced at Dr Raphael and he was staring at me, obviously waiting for my next move. I returned my eyes to the book and brought out my jotting note, then began writing.

A Hope for Moonlight

A Hope for Moonlight

If my mother was alive I might share some with her, maybe even write her one like I do whenever the pain of her loss is too much to bear. I write for a while losing track of time as I place my pain and frustration into words then something on the breeze reminds me of someone else and the poems take a different turn. In my darkest hour Thoughts of her sear my brain Burning desire all but consumes me Her touch is all that could ease my pain Eyes like pools that I want to drown in The stars above have nothing on her She’s the beauty that I Admire from afar I long to hold her and make her mine

How We End

How We End

Kyle looked up from his book and asked, "What exactly are you finding difficult?" "I don't know. I guess it's what the poem is supposed to be based on that's the problem." I ran a hand through my hair. We were to write on the deepest feeling of our lives, pain that we believe defines us, be it the past or the present. A deep story to tell. 'I want to feel your passion... Your pain.' Said Professor Lopez. But I had no idea what to write about because my mind was totally blank. I exhaled and asked Kyle, "What've you got?"

The Beta's Daughter

The Beta's Daughter

“Let’s see it.” I turned the paper over, and revealed the poem scrawled in pencil on the back. Down the streets of woodland black I wander, earth to hearse In every tree I see a wave A looming tidal curse On the cusp of something greater Stood ankle-deep in floodwater Stagnant pools of brown and red The onslaught is coming; I dread For each dark night and each pearl day The mist does clear too soon The floodplain is drown’d again The water, torn from its ocean womb

the alpha is supposed to be blind, it’s the whole premise of the book, yet the author constantly describes him as “seeing” people’s blood shot eyes, watching people walk away, looking at himself. it’s sloppy, bad writing. i don’t recommend the “sometimes not quite blind alpha”
Sirena Mares
Interesting characters. Interesting werewolf lore. I just hope the author never "cures" the blind alpha as he actually is mostly capable anyway. The FL goes through quite the character development, and that's putting it mildly. The quality of the narration and writing itself is publish-worthy.

letters that staved

letters that staved

Meanwhile, Yam, inspired by the unfolding stories around him, began something of his own—a writing circle called Words That Stay. No prompts. No critiques. Just space to write gently, where ink could flow without the weight of expectation. Ren joined, bringing pages tinged with the scent of rain-soaked mornings. Maris arrived with a notebook filled with margins doodled in quiet rebellion. Drew brought silence first, then words that cracked open like seeds finding light. And a guest who’d never written publicly before whispered, “I wrote about my mother once. It felt like peeling.” Yam smiled, offering them a simple rule:

Poor Husband's Betrayal

Poor Husband's Betrayal

Raisa wrote a poem entitled in the quiet, she then reread her work. In a lonely corner of the silent night, I hug your shadow in this loneliness. The longing that slices the heart, Flowed with tears that did not stop. In every beat of my heart, There is your name that echoes sadly. The hope that used to strengthen, Now only a painful memory. I walk in empty hallways, Without direction, without light. All the promises you once made, Are now just shadows that disappear slowly. Time passes slowly and cruelly, Leaving deep wounds.

My Father's Rival Is My Lover

My Father's Rival Is My Lover

They open the new submissions, journals, sketches, coded dreams, solar poems, sky-written vows. They place them inside. Then they bow their heads. Not in grief. But in reverence. Because they know: The fire is not in the pages. It is in the choice to write them. So I keep burning. Through drought and war. Through joy and birth. Through quiet revolutions that look like hugs, and wild ones that sound like protests. Every time someone chooses compassion over control… I spark. Every time a young girl dares to say, “I have something to say”…

Wolf's Den Bar and Grill

Wolf's Den Bar and Grill

Jane Ann showed Grace how questions could be far worse than letting it go. “Good grief, are you one of my professors from university? That sounds like one of their writing practice prompts.” Now she was getting angrier still from the lack of information. “Well, maybe it’s a good writing prompt. Think about it. You don’t have to say werewolves or where. But write about a what if. What if the public discovered a creature from mythology? But they weren’t ravening monsters, and they’ve existed peacefully with us the entire time? Fighting for our rights and defending the land and people. Would they have earned the right to human rights even though they aren’t human? Think about it. People talking

Stuck between two Alpha: Their mute mate

Stuck between two Alpha: Their mute mate

He asked, looking at the booklet confused. "I was wondering if you could assist me with my poetry assignment, it's due tomorrow and I have no idea what to write." I muttered. "Of course, I will help you. What is the poetry about?" He asked, looking at me eagerly. "Anything. The professor didn't give anything specific, just that he wanted us to write a poem on anything." I answered. "Alright, let me come up with something quickly." He nodded and opened the booklet to begin writing. I sat beside him on the bed, anticipating the moment he would start writing so I could read it.
