Point Blank Range Mentor Novels & Stories

Our path led to a massive indoor archery range. It had twenty lanes. Each lane was clearly marked out to 150 meters plus there was approximately 20 meters of back space where the observers and archers waiting their turn congregated. I recognized plenty of the women present. There were also three men - the other male new hires. The rest of us had made it through Week One.

I asked. We walked towards my shooting range. Yes, I do have my own shooting range on my estate; it is better than going to one every time we train. We made our way over to the target area and pulled out ear muffs. I let Bella go first and watched as she took off the safety of her gun. I stood back and admired her backside. She had a fucking nice ass. One I would like to spank. Get your head out of the gutter, Ace. I scolded myself. I watched as she shot the dummy in the head, heart, and in the goons. Fuck, she was good. I thought she would miss it since it was a few meters away.

Dani went to see him on Thursday after the range. The range was a fifteen-minute drive south of Bramwell, a three-lane outdoor setup tucked into a stand of pine trees off Route 9. She'd started shooting there at thirteen, and she still shot three mornings a week before the shop opened, and the discipline of it, the stillness, the way the whole world narrowed to the pin and the target and the half-second of release, had bled into everything else she did. Driving, mostly. The breath she took before the launch, the focus she held through the sweeper, it all came from the same place the arrow came from.

“Feet apart. Knees soft. Lean into it a little.” Her body fit against mine too perfectly. I could feel the heat of her through the thin shirt. When I leaned down to speak against her ear, my lips brushed the shell of it. “Breathe out when you squeeze the trigger. Don’t anticipate the kick.” She nodded. I showed her the stance once, stepping back just enough to demonstrate. Then I moved behind her again, arms caging her in, hands over hers on the weapon. “Ready?” She exhaled. The shot cracked through the range. The target thirty feet away tore clean through the center.

“I’m on my own side.” He nodded once. “That’s the only safe answer right now.” He stood, gesturing for me to follow him to the small indoor range at the far end of the study—soundproofed, targets already set. “First lesson: stance. Grip. Sight picture. Breathe. Then shoot.” I followed. But as I raised the gun—hands steadier than I expected—I couldn’t shake the feeling that every shot I learned today might one day be aimed at someone in this house.

Bryan shot his pistol three times, then pressed the button on the wall which drew his human cardboard target closer to where he was. “Not bad.” Kimberly shouted in the midst of the gunshots from other shooters, who we’re practicing in the shooting range. His target had a hole on the side of its head, on a shoulder and in the middle of its torso. “My turn.” She said after replacing the bullet ridden target with a new one, and pressing the button on the wall, which pushed it away till it got to forty meters away from where she stood.

"Not for the reason you think." After a long moment, he finally released me, but not before placing a kiss on my cheek. He flicked my collar playfully, a satisfied smile on his face. "You've done well for a first session," he said, stepping back to give me space. "But we should take a break. Extended practice can strain a beginner's muscles." He unlocked the chain securing the gun, then called out to someone I couldn't see. "Adjust to moving targets, please." The range transformed before my eyes. Eight targets appeared, seven of them moving quickly in erratic patterns, while one varied its speed unpredictably.

I think my disappointment will be much worse if that were the case, not because I don't like animals, but it isn't exactly a good way to blow off steam. Well this… I don't know what to make of it. “The place is good and ready to be used, Shark.” Obren's voice resounds. I cut my eyes to him, watching him edge back to the front gate. The range is an open space with the targets set several meters away from the shed, standing tall and unshaken even as the sun blasts off of it. As Obren's footfall fades, I turn to Michael with my hands resting on my waist, head cocked aside.

33 A1 Shooting-Range was just off the Barnet By-Pass. I lay at the five hundred metre firing point at the range. The white peg in the grass beside said 4.4, and the same number was recurrent high up on the distance but above the single six-foot square target that looked no larger than a postage stamp to the human eye and in the May dusk. But my lens, an infrared scope fixed above my rifle, covered the whole canvas. So, I could easily differentiate the pale-blue and beige colours into which the target separated. The six-inch semi-circular bull looked as big as the half-moon that started to show low down in the blackening sky above the A1.
