I was engaged with a book about hunters which I got from William's old book collection. Hunters were half human and half supernatural. They looked like humans but has speed of werewolves. They can detect any werewolves near by. Their violet eyes starts glowing. Unlike other supernatural creatures hunters did not have other supernatural powers other than their speed that they can only use if their prey is near them.

Hunter felt ashamed and indignant when he heard Charlie’s mockery. When he saw the playful teasing expression in Charlie’s eyes, a strong sense of fear surged up deep in his heart once again. More hunters begin pouring out of the facility. Avani swings around again, his tail slamming hunters, sending them flying into the forest. I hear several as they hit the trees, their hearts stopping from the sudden impact, their bones smashed to pieces. From the bit of light from the facility, I see something that nearly makes my heart stop. It looks like a harpoon launcher. When the contraption turns to face Avani, I can see that it already has a harpoon loaded. I hear the thunk as the harpoon is shot from the launcher and unlike the arrow, the harpoon whooshes through the air.

The death paladin let go of its sword and let it stab into the sand while it spun around counterclockwise and bashed its shield at the Hunter. “Argh!” The Hunter was sent flying across the desert. He managed to flip his body and land on his first until he came to a stop. That action made his hood fall down and exposed his head. He had light green hair on the top that was tied back and he shaved the sides and back of his head. He had green eyes as well. He lifted his head to look at the death paladin. It grabbed its sword and started charging toward the Hunter. The Hunter flapped his cloak back and reached for something on his waist, a small bell.

Then I plunge my knife into his back. Blood sprays all over me. The wound is deep, but not fatal. Hunter turns and swipes at me with his claws. I'm ready for him. We clash. I slam my elbow into his side. He swipes at me. I duck under him. I swing my weapon at him, hoping to hit his back leg. He dodges. I lunge at him, pressing my weapon against him. His claws scrape against my leg. I cry out in pain. I swing my weapon at him, but he dodges.

He said. I just sat there completely in shock. Then I grabbed my champagne and chugged the class before setting it back on the table. Damien just smiled at me, trying to hide his laughter. “I don’t see how any of this is funny… Do you realize who I am?” I hissed. “Snow, trust me, I know everything there is to know about you.” He said. “No, I don’t think you understand… I am a Hunter. A VAMPIRE HUNTER… You are a Vampire. I’m supposed to kill you. Why would the gods make me your gifted mate? It just doesn’t make sense.” I said.

I scanned the trees in front of us and my eyes fell into the grass with rash movements, just near a chir pine tree. “Quinn, East!” I shouted as I felt something from the east running in our direction. Quinn nodded and immediately positioned her bow to release the arrow with poison. With a bolt, Quinn calmly let go of the arrow when a big brown werewolf appeared. This is our first time to see a brown-haired werewolf, most of the hunts we’ve been to have black or grey fur. “Brown?” Rendall asked as we saw the arrow hit its leg and growl in pain.

I nodded while tucking a few strands of my hair behind my ear. “Wanna go hunting?” He asked. “Hunting?” I inquired, frowning. I had never gone hunting. “Yup, today I and Luther are going hunting. It’s our favorite game. Actually, It’s in our blood.” He chuckled. “You two kill animals for fun?” “Not only do we kill animals but also skin them and eat them, darling,” Luther said. I cringed at the way he was speaking. “How could you eat wild animals?”

Madam Amelia seemed to know this as she nodded her head at me. “Now what? You can’t break your vow. What will you do? You can’t have a Wolf Rider running around Astoria.” There it was. She knew what her daughter was. The half human part of it was the least of it. The fact that she was a Rider—a creature that could control a werewolf with a simple command. A creature that ruined my family's life. A creature, who must be destroyed before it gains power. There hasn't been a rider born in half a century, and even before, there was only one that ruled Astoria.
