More Than Roommates
It’s too much activity for nine-something in the morning.
I inhale, push the door open to the second floor wing, and instantly hear shouting.
Not angry shouting though, creative shouting.
“No… NO… who unplugged the key light?”
“Maya, breathe.”
“I will not breathe until the light breathes.”
Okay. This is… a lot.
I knock lightly on the propped-open door. Inside looks exactly like I imagined a queer media division would look like a tornado made of lighting gels, half-finished posters, tripods, and glitter. Actual glitter. It’s on the floor like someone sprinkled it instead of sweeping.
