The Billionaire's Regret
Too long not to sabotage the coordination of my hand while I poured coffee.
I set the cup on the table. A little too hard.
“Go ahead, Your Majesty,” I said to Poppy.
Poppy raised Bunny like a microphone. “If I become Captain Poppy, all villains will be thrown into the sea.”
“No.”
“But with life jackets,” she continued quickly, one hand lifting like a tiny lawyer who had just found a loophole. “Because I’m a fair queen.”
I turned to Sebastian. “I already said there will be no sailing.”
Poppy sucked in a sharp breath, the kind of breath she usually used before delivering a manifesto. “Mommy, it’s not sailing. It’s a royal operation.”
