The wait began and continued for a few minutes before my patience started running out. “What might be delaying her, is it too early to bail him out?” I asked myself.

I don’t like waiting. I bounce my foot and lean over the café table. My ginger tea almost drained already. I pick up the phone and pull up the text messages with Jareth. I go to text him, but then stop and put it down again. Don’t be clingy. I’m sure he has a perfectly good reason for being late. Ten minutes late. I take another sip of the tea and frown. Empty.

"Is he ever going to show up?" Grace asked twenty minutes later, taking the question right out of Nicole's head, the man was thirty minutes late, why didn't he bother calling to tell her he would be late? "Why is he taking so long? He can't just keep us waiting here like we don't have things to do,"

Why do we have to hurry this time when we can finish our project in the former days? Tsk! We were just too lazy these past few days. So annoying! I waited for the elevator to open. I cannot stay still. I keep on stomping my feet because of anticipation. My patience can’t! I have to fucking hurry! I don’t want our group to pass our proposal late!

I frown and grab it, discovering a text from Thea. "Something urgent to talk about the agreement letter. I'll be at your office sharp at seven tomorrow!" What? What's so urgent to talk about? "You can say that now on call. Should I call you?" I text her back. She literally takes five long minutes before replying, causing me enough tension. "I would definitely call you if it was possible", her reply came. "You're not changing your mind. Are you?" I can't help sending this reply. Another long wait. Why can't she just reply to me immediately? I know she's on her damn phone.

I glance at the clock anxiously. Twenty minutes. My leg bounces up and down ridiculously,as though I have restless leg syndrome. I do. But that's not the point. Eighteen minutes. Why the heck are people never punctual!? Maybe because you came an hour early? It's slightly an overexpectation if you want the other person to jump into your head and come an hour quickly as well. I glare at the menu in front of me. Thirteen minutes. Uggh. Why is time not moving?
