I said grumpily into the phone after picking up. The person on the other end of the call chuckled, I looked at my phone screen to see who it was that called to make jest of me this early on a Saturday morning, the only day in the week that I'm off duty. Oh guess what? UNKNOWN NUMBER was boldly written on the screen as the caller ID. Is this a prank call? Seriously? "Hey are you crazy? did you call to make fun of me?" I'm getting so annoyed right now, what right does this person have to wake me up? I deserve rest and not to be disturbed by a prank caller early on a Saturday morning.

"On April Fools' Day… Y-You said it was… okay to prank her… to teach her a lesson… she won't forget…" When James heard that, his grip loosened. Marissa was right. The night before we were supposed to depart, Marissa had sought him out, sweetly begging him to let her play a prank on me again since it was April Fools' Day tomorrow. She claimed that she was only planning on turning off my oxygen for a few seconds, just to give me a good scare. He was busy browsing documents at the time, so he didn't even bother raising his head as he responded with, "Do whatever you wish, just don't take things too far."

What if he won’t answer my call? I was about to hang up the call but suddenly he answer it “hello” The first voice that I heard is North; now it is confirm that this is his number. But I didn’t speak because I am scared “hello?” He repeated, but still I didn’t spoke “bro, I think someone is pulling a prank on me” I rolled my eyes because of his conclusion, really? Prank? “North” they were all startled; the moment I spoke they all screamed “oh shit! Come on men, introduce yourself!”

I smiled slightly, then nodded in agreement. I went back to making the cake batter once my hands were no longer shaking. Now and then, I would glance at my cell phone on the table. Thankfully, there were no more prank calls for the rest of the day. Even after Richard came home in the evening, I breathed a sigh of relief. It really was just a prank call. Unfortunately, the calm didn't last long. The next day, right after Richard left for work, I got another call from an unfamiliar number. "I just woke up. Can't you wait a while until I'm ready?" I asked alone at my phone screen that kept showing an unfamiliar ID.

This person was speaking in riddles. I can’t help but hang up the call. It must be one of the youngsters playing pranks on me. I haven’t been able to drop the phone when it started ringing again, it was the same number. I hesitated before picking up the call. “Look, I’m very busy right now and the last thing I need is a prank—“ “End the call on me again and I swear today would be the last time you’d ever smile again.” The person threatened. I held the phone tightly.

I said to the person who was calling. “You have a nerve to suspend me!” He angrily said, which made me frown. “Who’s this?” I asked. So, he sarcastically laughed. I don’t know him because he is camouflaging his identity using a device to change his voice. “Secret!” He sarcastically said to me. “Look, whoever you are, can you please stop!” I angrily said to him, “Because if you won’t, I will sue you!” I warned, so he laughed loudly. Is this a prank?

“Look, if this is some kind of joke…” The call disconnected, just like it had that morning. I stared at the phone, unease creeping into my chest. “Prank call?” Claire asked, frowning. “Probably,” I said, trying to sound casual, “Just weird.” “Weird is an understatement.” She said, shaking her head, “If it happens again, maybe block the number.” “Yeah, I’ll do that.” I said, though I wasn’t entirely convinced that would be the end of it.

I was about to hang up, concluding it might be a spam call when the person spoke up 'Hello, Is this the Badmus' house' The voice was distinctly an older Zainab's voice and it was barely above a whisper. Now my sister is prank calling our house. What won't she do now? 'Zee, you know you're crazy, abi? Now, you're modulating your voice to sound older to prank me, abi? She hanged up abruptly, the sound clicking down my ears. I stared at the phone for a moments longer, a sense of foreboding rising in my heart. The wall clock chimed 7:15. It was time to leave for school.

He smiled " Perfect! That's the spirit of a true warrior Pete!" I said chuckling slightly " What should we do now?" He asked " Whatever you want." " Let's call people and prank them." " Silly but am bored as fuck... So let's do it." " You start, compose a random number and play on him." I called a random number then said as he picked up. " You hid them right?" " Who's calling?" " Now is not the time for that! We are on the shortage of time! Hide it well before we get caught!"

What if it's dad or any of my relatives with a new phone number, right? "Hello?" No one responded or greeted me back, which made me pissed. Is this a prank? "Hello?!" with a touch of anger. "Hey, you from the other line! If you're bored and wanna make fun of me, well guess what?! I'm totally messed up right now and you're making me irritated! For your information, I don't have time for a caller that doesn't know how to speak. Well, you can enroll back in your kindergarten and practice your communication skills. Goodbye!—"
