The Calling Chapter 1 I am walking down the cliffy road, it’s dark out with only the street lamp to illuminate my path. I am slightly cold and very irritated at my current situation. My hand found the thick book of Primus records and the torn sheet I had once stolen from the Book of Ashes. The same sheet I had used in performing the ritual that might be what is shifting Aqua.

I know you heard me. 'Yes, I heard it.' I said to him. 'I am now reading the book I got from the restricted section of the library. There is something about this book, titled The 12 Sinners: The Demon's Souls. I think there is something here we can use to defeat them. Who knows, I will start here. Just enjoy them first, dude.' I heard Hunter's voice in my head. He is talking to me. I nodded my head even though he couldn't see me.

He then screamed back at me, “Freya, why are you not helping me? We need to get them out!” I sipped my beer and watched as the hunter in cell three was charging towards Finnley. I could have warned him, but he needed to realize, we couldn't just let these deranged hybrids out. He screwed his face up at me, clearly not happy with my lack of concern. He turned back around to face cell three, and as he did, the hunter had half shifted and then ran headfirst into the cell wall. Finnley startled, and then as he jumped backwards, he slipped and fell onto the floor.

He looked at me with his eyebrow raised. “What’s it going to be? To die or not to die?” I rolled my eyes, grasped the gun tighter and flipped the safety off. “We have to eat.” He waved his hand towards the forest. “After you.” I swallowed the lump in my throat and moved silently into the forest. I kept a slow pace, keeping all my senses open to anything and everything. I glanced at Jamie before holding my fist up, telling him to stop. I turned my head slightly, listening intently. His hands shifted on his gun to hover over the trigger. Suddenly a deer was thrown in front of us and a bear leapt on top of it to tear its throat out. The chair was far too big for her, swallowing her small frame, but she felt oddly safe in it. Before she realized, her eyelids grew heavy. The book slipped onto her lap as she drifted into sleep. Hunter returned late, his mood thunderous after the ring, after Geret. His mind was sharp, his body burning with violence he hadn’t been able to unleash fully. But the instant he stepped into the quiet house, he sought her.

Hunter knew all too well that every decision comes with its consequences. He made a deal with the Patels' to get rid of Ludo but he didn’t hold his end of the bargain. Despite this, Hunter was no man to be intimidated by the Patels. As a matter of fact, they were out of the picture for him because he had finally got what he sought after; the manuscript. As soon as he got home, he printed the whole manuscript out, took it with him into his carnage backyard and treated himself to some reading. He never remembered when he had read like that but he was determined to finish reading the whole story that very day.
