I picked up the pup in my arms and started running away. I tripped on my foot and fell down. My head hit the stone nearby.

The girl wasn’t that young, and it’s not unusual for a pup to go out for a late-night run, but this female was panicking. Jericho and Gina were still adjusting to the emotional shift of being new parents and felt compassion for her, so I told them to send out some extra patrols.
