I pushed it open and there was a table at the centre of the room with three seats. The table was empty except for a table cloth that covered the entire wood. The table was triangular and each seat was placed at the vortex of the shape. I squinted and walked closer toward it and the door behind me slammed shut. I jolted and grabbed my chest before turning toward the table again.

The furniture is mismatched and worn, but sturdy and well-constructed in a way that most furniture around Salt Mountain isn’t. I was immediately greeted by a higher ceiling. This time, the chains were not just dangling. They are rigged in an elaborate pulley system. There were two metal tables, tilted like an examination chair. The walls were decorated with tools of needles still in their packets, violet wand kit humming faintly, bottles labeled “stage blood – high viscosity” and other things I couldn't recognize. A drain in the floor. Hose coiled in the corner.

The overall effect was to make the room dark and unknown. Looking around further, I saw some other less obvious furniture. There was a single oversized chair with red velvet cushion and padding and a similar red velvet pillow on the floor at the chair's base. Another piece of furniture looked almost like a skinny picnic table, except the legs were canted outward rather than straight down or inward. It had similar red velvet padding on the top and down the sides. I could see where a person could be made to lay on it, face down or face up, and their legs would drape over the edge.
