"What's the problem?" he inquired, the words tinged with a mixture of concern and intrigue. It was a question that hung in the air, waiting for the weight of an answer to settle upon it.

I questioned. “Do you miss me that much?” He questioned. “Well, not really… I just wanted to….” “You do not miss me?” He questioned. “Well, I do but that is not why I asked. I just wanted to…” “Tell me, why do you miss me so much? Is there something I do not know?” He questioned. Why was he asking me such weird questions?

Yes, it must not be something that would give you an unfair advantage over someone else by having knowledge that you shouldn’t have.” “Ok, I don’t think it will. I mean, maybe. I’m not sure.” “Why don’t you ask me and if I can answer, I will.”

Adrian's jaw tightened. “What does it want?”. Amina closed her eyes briefly. Trying to grasp the presence. It wasn't hostile. Not exactly. But it wasn't neutral either. It was—. Curious. Focused. Precise. “It's asking a question.”. Miriam frowned. “What question?”. Amina's voice dropped. “Where autonomy came from.”. Adrian went still. “That's not a human question.”. “No.”. Like, what would you change if you knew it would work?” I pause. “Questions that require an actual answer.”

I asked. “Well, would you call it sneaking up, if you can already tell I'm coming, huh?” Okay, I have to give him this, he really knows how to throw a question back so perfectly well, it's annoying. “Buy seriously curious, how do you do that so easily, though?” he asked. “ And just why do you think I would answer that question ?” I asked, staring right at him with a smirk. “Ohh I wow, so this is what they call having a test of your medicine, huh,” he said as he let out a laugh.
