Her best friend Rachel had been there through all of it. Rachel was thirty-three now, and she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Not in the obvious, flashy way that turned heads at bars, but in a soft, radiant, heart-stopping way. She had warm hazel eyes that crinkled when she laughed, full lips that always seemed to be hiding a secret smile, and curves that made my chest tighten every time she walked into a room. Her dark hair fell in loose waves past her shoulders, and she had this gentle, caring energy that made everyone around her feel safe. She was sexy without trying, cute without meaning to be, and completely unaware of how badly I wanted her.

It wasn't the shy and touched expression that Rachel was expecting. Instead, it looked like she was about to settle a score with someone. Rachel's heart sank, so she asked, "Ms. Shaffer, you're not going to make us return everything, are you?"

I smiled. Rose had mud covering her clothes, with splashes of water on her top as well. "You should change your clothes, otherwise you will catch a cold." She nodded with a sheepish smile, "I went to collect water from the river but slipped over the rock and fell." I paused but continued stirring again...the river. "Can you add the final petals and stir this? I have some work to do." Rose looked at me in shock and to my surprise, she shook her head in a no immediately, "I can't do that, you shall always complete your work other..."

I slowly get behind her. "Aw," she jumps a little before she awards me with her smile. "Don't stop." I whisper into her ear huskily. Della smirks in return. "What is the song anyway?" I ask while I move my hands a little lower on the curve of her back. I know she is doing it intentionally to grind on me when she knows it is taking everything in my bones not to bend her over this counter and fuck the day lights out of her. Jimmy just flipped her off, and Rachel growled at him causing us all to laugh. After breakfast, Rachel, Saoirse, and Kam left for their jobs. Rachel and Kam both worked at the only call center in town, while Saoirse worked the computer help desk. Rose and I were both off this week, since she worked at the campus library, and I was a math tutor. Rose and I decided to do a little hiking, and maybe work on her shifting. I’m still not sold on Nate’s hypothesis, but I also didn’t want Rose to be excluded if she somehow could shift. Besides, it was a beautiful day, and perfect to become in tune with nature.

Getting back on my feet, I made my way towards the bath where a few other maids were waiting for me already as the intoxicating smell of roses became a part of the atmosphere. I got out of the bath smelling myself as the sharp scent of roses had deeply penetrated my skin. Water dripped down my fair skin as I stood up and walked away from the bath. When I was done with everything, I saw a maid bringing an extravagant light pink gown which had white butterflies and flowers decorated all over the bodice as the skirt was quite puffy and pretty. I can see Rachel towering over her from behind, her claws extended on both Rose’s neck and belly and she’s pulling Rose away in a backwards walk, trying to make her escape. Axel answered the door while she stood in the middle of the cream rug on the floor, part of her had wondered if she should have answered the door herself but if she was honest it would have felt a little weird answering the door to someone else's house. A young woman bounded in the door, her blonde hair was cut short and curls framed her pixie-like features, behind traipsed several other young women all carrying clothes bags. By this time Rachel, who knew I was coming to work, was already waiting at the elevator. When he saw me coming out, he put his arms around me. "See, here are my flowers for you." "Something terrible has just happened to you, and I think you should have flowers to help you change your luck." Rachel took a bunch of flowers from one of the employees and shoved them into my arms. It's a lily with stars and daisies. It's nice, but I don't have the roses I like. "Why not roses?
