I smoke a cigarette as I wait for Rain. The last eight days have been the happiest of my life. After the party for my birthday—to which I had to return, for my mother wanted me to meet all the females she had invited, hoping I would find my mate—I spent as much time with Rain as possible, for she is my mate.

She continued, her tone soft. The suggestion was so unexpected that the tears almost returned. "Now? But it’s so late." I replied, forcing myself not to tear up. Outside, I notice the grey clouds that are moving in overhead. What started out as a beautiful, bright, sunny day is quickly turning cold, windy and threatening to rain, but nothing could dampen my spirits, I'm having the most wonderful birthday, even if the weather doesn't want to co-operate.
