Raven Method Shifting 소설 & 이야기

My cheeks were burning as we both headed out. And there, Raven was, wearing nothing but tiny bum shorts that rode up her thighs and a skimpy bra that left zero to the imagination. “Raven,” Knox said, his voice sounding neutral. She flashed a smile that didn't reach her eyes. “I want to go for a run. It's been too long since I last shape shifted. Will you join me?” “It seems I have forgotten the landscape of the pack lands” She added the last part reaching for his hand but I stepped forward to stop the contact.

I nodded, thinking of Lilly—our brave delta and one of my best friends who we lost in that battle. “So,” Damon asked, “what are her powers? And her name?” I raised a brow. “Why do you need to know?” “It’s always fascinating hearing about others like us,” Raven said gently. “If it makes you comfortable, I can tell you mine first.” I nodded instantly—I was curious. “How different are shifters from werewolves?” I asked. Raven laughed. “We’re totally different from you wolves. You have two skins—human and wolf. But I can take countless forms whenever I please.”

Control had been replaced by endurance, and endurance demanded patience few had been trained to cultivate. Raven spent the afternoon walking. He avoided interfaces, avoiding even his wrist display, relying instead on physical landmarks. He needed to feel his way through the city, to remember what orientation meant without overlays. At a small café, he overheard a heated argument dissolve into laughter when both speakers realized they were agreeing from different angles. The moment stayed with him. Conflict no longer felt like a prelude to collapse. Sometimes it was simply friction before adjustment.

I tipped my chin up to meet the piercing gaze of Valentin. “This method of shifting is particularly successful in young wolves,” he said softly. “It forces your body to get used to the shift quicker and it forces the body to accept it quicker. It’s harsh but it works.” My chest was still heaving. “How many times to get it to work?” “Usually, I can get a wolf to max out at about ten shifts per minutes,” he tilted his head. “You got to five.”

Timothy added and slowly wrapped his hand around me. "Is there something wrong?" Nath came to us. "Luna, you are releasing a lot of your scent. I could smell it very strongly from the door, are you okay?" “She is shifting,” Timothy said to him. Why was I even shifting now? Why had Raven decided to come out now? Wouldn't it be dangerous for me to shift while I am pregnant? Wouldn't it be too much for the baby? Although I had a bump, I wasn't too far gone. My pregnancy was still young and the strain of shifting would take a toll on the baby.

Raven Rion steps in again, his movement precise, controlled, and I follow without hesitation, meeting the strike and shifting into the next position the way I’ve been trained to. But something about it doesn’t line up the way it should. It’s not the movement, but the space around it. For a split second, before he commits to the motion, I feel it—the direction, the intent, the exact line he’s about to take—and at the same time, something flickers into place in my vision.

She held on to Ivan’s scarf and shut her eyes. Through his eyes she could make out two big burly men at the table. They were on each side of Ivan. They each had half filled cups of what was probably rum. They were playing cards. She was drawn out of her reverie by the calls of what was unmistakably ravens, she looked up at the sky. They were a few of them hovering above her head.

Her control was slipping, her wolf nearly free, but she couldn’t stop. The other hunter tried to flank her. Cole didn’t help. He just stood there, knife trembling, eyes locked on her like she was the monster, not the men trying to kill them. Raven fought with savage speed, barely holding the wolf back. Every strike was a heartbeat from shifting. Every dodge was a brush with silver. The blond hunter wiped blood from his lip and smirked. “Half-shifted. Barely holding it together and with just one push, girl, and you’ll lose yourself.”

She’ll live here in the pack and maybe her wolf will find her mate. So, till now she has read whatever she could between her training sessions about the process of shifting into a wolf and back to the human body. The process of shifting for the first time is extremely painful as the bones are being reconstructed to adapt to a wolf form at will. But with time and practice, it becomes easy. Soon, a knock on the door signified her dear friend’s arrival. Charlotte opened the door to reveal a beaming Ayleen.

Raven shifted back until he was sitting with his back against the door. Blocking it. Not in a threatening way. In a deliberate one. I watched him for a second. “You planning to guard me?” “No,” he said. A beat. “Then why are you sitting there?” His gaze flicked up, direct. “Because it’s the most efficient position.” I almost smiled. Almost. No one suggested leaving. No one suggested sleep. So we didn’t.
