Get the tests started.” I looked at him. “You think it’s… different?” He hesitated. “I think we should be ready for anything.” The meeting room was packed. The elders were at the head table. Pack members standing along the walls, whispering everywhere. I walked in with the guys behind me. Heads turned, and eyes followed. Some smiled and others glared. We sat in the front row. The head elder stood. “Raven Blackthorne is pregnant. The child’s father is unknown. This raises questions about the future of our pack leadership.”

I felt his finger under my chin as he lifted my face up to look at him, his searching grey eyes staring into my already teary ones. He stands up from his desk to tell us to leave, but before he can say or do anything, Allistar brings up a good point. "Should we be concerned about Raven shifting tonight? I forced myself to calm down before offering an explanation. "The doctor said this pregnancy is delicate, and Sunny and Whiskers are too rough. Let's send them to my mom's place first, and once the baby's safely born, we can bring them back home, okay?" Adam had no objections.
