‘Rodolf looked at him incredulously. ‘Just read it,’ said Raven, ‘the solutions are there!’ ‘Yes, but gray magic? Why didn't you ever say anything about that?‘ ‘It's not black Rodolph, it's all going to be fine,’ Raven promised. He said that if Rodolf no longer needed the booklet, he should give it back to him right away. 'Raven?' 'Yes?' ‘And that ring? The weapon on that ring, with that full moon with wings in front of it? ‘

“Yes, of course. If not tonight, then tomorrow. We have much to discuss.” “Yes, we do.” I nodded. “But could I take a quick peek behind the curtain? I’m curious.” Raven chuckled. “It’s an invisibility spell, so no one gets curious, and we don’t attract attention.” She motioned with her head toward the empty field. “Come on.” She pulled back an invisible curtain, and tall, beautiful elves with blonde hair stood guard in front of a castle. Students and members of the coven walked around the grounds, talking of hurrying to a class.

The guardians, too, seemed impressed, their glowing eyes widening slightly. But the trial was far from over. The guardians led them to a second test, this time one that involved solving an ancient riddle etched into the surface of a towering stone monolith. The black crystal was pyramid-shaped and sparkled attractively. It beckoned those who had magic to come to it and feed it. The coven wanted to get closer, as did Esmee and Rodolf, attracted by its power.

Raven questions as my head tilts in shock, knowing that she and Liliana are both Lycan. I also know that if Liliana manifested magic differently than Raven she must be a Lycan Healer like her grandmother. “Alpha Osric, you’re very brave wandering all the way out here alone. I see you’ve made your first kill,” I mention watching her slowly move closer dragging her bunny with her. “Want some? I caught a bunny,” Raven sounds proud as she drops the bunny next to me and gets comfortable sharing her prey with me. “What do you mean something else happened to Liliana?” I question while sniffing her fur finding myself becoming more relaxed in her presence.

A riddle appeared on a stone plaque by the pool: "By day it sleeps, by night it soars, Silent as the moon, it holds the core. Speak its name to calm the tide, And through the maze, you may glide." Nikolai and I pondered the riddle, our eyes scanning the area for any hints. After a few moments, a soft voice echoed through the trees. “The answer is the owl,” it said. “Speak the name, and the way will be shown.” Following the guidance, I called out, “Owl!” At that instant, the water in the pool began to bubble, and a hidden pathway emerged, leading us further into the garden.

“Enough!” Every eye turned to the high platform. The Elder’s gaze cut like steel. His voice thundered like a storm. “Clara—you’ve hidden long enough. But you cannot deceive me. Your blood is not Sinclair’s. You belong to Ravenclaw!”
