Chapter 34 Dawn had barely brushed the mountains with silver when the alarm bells rang. Warriors stumbled from their dens, blades half-drawn, shifting into wolves as the scent hit them. Something or someone had struck in the night. Raven burst from the hall, her wolf clawing beneath her skin, as she saw two huts near the outer wall were ablaze, fire eating their timber, black smoke twisting skyward. Warriors scrambled with buckets, others trying to tear down what they could before the flames spread.
