COLD STEEL, BLEEDING HEARTS
Julian said, staring at the white light past the sky, “there’s only the void. No more chapters left in the book.”
Maya stared at the Replay button. She looked at the little girl, now marching toward her like a robot.
“What do we do, Maya?” Julian asked, his hand glassy and fragile in hers.
Maya looked at cold, white reality. Thought about the readers. Thought about the fight.
“I’m a doctor,” Maya whispered. “And I can’t live in a world that isn’t real.”
She raised the remote high, ready to smash it.
If Maya destroys the Replay button to find the truth, will there be a Chapter 65, or will she accidentally erase the only world where her family is still alive?
