Red Moon Rising Novels & Stories

At this point, anything was possible. The moon began rising to the peak of the sky and we could see a tint of red appearing in the corner of the moon. It was almost time for the countdown to begin and for Jess to summon Naomi. Last time at the countdown there was a giant explosion that nearly took us all out and war broke loose. This time we weren’t sure what was going to happen.

"Red? Like Elder Vernon and Shani?" "Their eyes are almost citrine color; lemon yellow to orange-brown hue, Michael's eyes is the color of blood." "What's the difference?" I groaned. "Who else has red eyes?" Dominic tilts his head, thinking. "You mentioned your father has red eyes." "Yes, and my father is a demon," I explained. "But only royal demons have the signature red blood eyes. I saw this baby's eyes change to that color before it disappeared, and I felt a familiar aura from him earlier when I touched him."

Amber nodded just before a contraction rippled through her. As the moon rose to its peak, the Lunas began to push. Amber was the first to birth to her child, which I expected. He was a healthy boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. I passed the boy to Alpha Damien to clean him up as I turned my focus to Michelle. The moon reached its peak as the female was born. I called to Selene and the moon turned blue before she descended to earth. We clasped hands and began the incantation to seal her powers. The wind picked up as we finished the spell. She turned to her beloved creatures and smiled, then faded and returned to the moon. I quickly put the blinding spell on the female and watched as they cra

But they’ll get over it once it’s done. I throw on real clothes, grab my room key, and head out. The beach is nearly empty, moonlight barely lighting the rocky coastline. I move toward a large outcropping, where I’d seen movement. I summon a spell—black and purple energy sparking between my palms. But when I round the rocks and step into view— They’re already dead. Roweena. Iona. The Red One. Laid out on the sand. Clouded eyes. Blood pooling beneath them. Chests torn open, hearts missing.

“Look. The Blood Moon is already on the rise.” My head snapped up. It was slowly growing dim outside, and the red Blood Moon was rising, as he had said. Soon, I would have no control over my actions. “Call me on my cell if you need me. I don’t care what time of the day or night it is.” “I will.” “Oh, and Wyatt?” His head snapped up, eyebrows raised. “Thank you... for everything.” He nodded once as one corner of his lips curled into a sly smile. “Now, get inside before I have to fight the women off for you.”

“But whatever it is—it’s coming.” And as the first light broke over the horizon, painting the valley gold, a faint red shimmer bled across the edges of the rising sun. The Blood Moon was coming early.

She screamed. The ground trembled. Mikhail stepped closer, his pace almost lazy. “You cannot save them from here,” he said calmly, his voice carrying as if the wind itself bent to him. “This is the path your pride carved.” The moon above us—what little of it had fought its way through the dark—cracked. A fissure split its surface, spreading like a spiderweb across a dying star. The sky bled red. Hybrids raised their heads as one. Howls rose—wrong, layered, corrupted.

They rush across the courtyard toward the rising moon, while several warriors attempt to control the growing unrest among the wolves. “This is impossible,” one of the elders says as he stares upward. “The lunar cycle cannot shift like this.” Another elder shakes his head while studying the sky. “The Blood Moon never rises early.” The red light continues climbing above the treeline, casting long shadows across the courtyard while the restless energy in the air grows heavier with every passing second. Tristan steps forward slowly and lifts his face toward the moon , “I would not call it impossible,” he says calmly. Several wolves directed attention to him.

Not like a storm. Not like clouds. But like smoke… burning red. Kellan burst through the door, breathless. “It’s happening,” he said. “What is?” Ember asked. “The Blood Moon.” Ember blinked. “That’s impossible. It isn’t due for another four months.” “I know,” Kellan said. “But it’s here.” They rushed outside. And there it was … a blood-colored moon rising before evening had even begun. Too large, too bright, casting an eerie crimson glow across the pack grounds.
