Surprisingly, I don't find the idea disturbing. Feeling boredom as it sets in quickly, I make my way over to the bookshelf. I start to peruse the titles and am shocked at what I find. I see the House of Night Series, The Twilight Series, Forbidden Knowledge, Harry Potter Trilogy, and various books on Military Protocols all with black covers. The books are all in good condition too. Not interested in any of the military books I reach for the first book in the House of Night Series. As I take the book over to the couch to settle in, the door swings open.

I asked. I wasn’t going to say anything but It just came out. “Rowen is a ruthless leader. We have always known to stay out of his way when in your realm. We know that if you are here he will come for you, regardless of your status with him. He does not take well to his things being taken. He will not stop until he has retrieved you. Ralph’s POV Everything was finally falling back into place. I leaned back in the chair behind my desk, staring out the office window toward the territory beyond. Warriors moved about their duties while new members continued settling into the pack. Life carried on, just as it always did. For the first time in what felt like forever, I allowed myself to think beyond tomorrow. My sons would be home today. The thought settled comfortably in my mind.

Cillian looked like he thought about it for a while but then ended up shaking his head, “No, if I’m comfortable I might dally. It’s better to rush things up so we can return to our place of rest.” Mordeu’s smile fell, but he nodded his head, “Of course.” “Years ago, before the revolution of the humans, the first red wolf was born.” Cillian lifted his eyes to meet Mordeu’s own. He wanted to capture desperately any form of discomfort which would decide if he would continue or not. However, Mordeu was unfazed. He just listened intently, standing there like a statue, eyes fixed on Cillian unwaveringly.

At the same time, I sent my men into the woods to take out the rogues. My men met a bad clash between werewolves but didn't know some of them were from Forest Howls and not rogues. In this ignorance, they fought against them. In the process, they killed the rogues and Jared's men as well. One of my men was taken out as well.

But as I rematerialized, I was met with a scene that defied all my expectations. The battlefield was eerily still, the only sound the distant hum of tension.
