Her name still echoed in my dreams. Her face when I rejected her and the confusion when she was told the mate bond was cursed. The way her voice broke. “She is no longer your concern, Alpha,” Elder Cassian cut in with his eyes narrowing. “Your behavior is becoming more unstable each day. You cannot afford—”

And John being her blank check makes her more possessive.
