No one did.
Lysandra was hunched in the far corner, barely clothed, arms wrapped tightly around herself. Her eyes had lost color, once sharp and cunning, now glassy and vacant. The walls around her were streaked with blood and scratches, her nails torn and broken.
When she saw Giovanni, she flinched. Actually flinched. She crawled backward, away from the light, into the shadows.
“Lysandra…” I stepped in slowly.
Giovanni placed a hand on my arm. “She doesn’t know you. She doesn't remember you, does not remember anyone. I don't even think she remembers herself. This is the best part about it being able to reshape them.”
