Bound to the Dark King
Dust clouded the air, blurring my vision and filling my lungs, making me cough and struggle to maintain consciousness.
"Your Highness," Soren's voice reached me, sounding distant and muffled over the sharp ringing that now filled my ears. "Quick, get her to the safe house, I will take them out!" he yelled, directing his command to someone else in the room.
Through the haze, I saw Kael emerge from the debris. He swiftly bent down, scooped me up with ease, and slung me over his shoulder. Behind us, the menacing growls of combat grew as Soren and the other two warriors engaged the rogues who had breached Malik's chambers. I blinked repeatedly, fighting the dizziness that threatened to pull me u
