The Light's Shadow

The Light's Shadow

I clear my voice and took a deep breath as I mentally prepare myself to read this monstrosity. ’I love you. I know for a fact that I will never be able to understand why you question how much I do... But you have given me something I’ve never had. And that’s my shadow. Love isn’t selfless, sweet, or innocent. Love is dark, selfish, and passionate. And I wouldn’t have known what love genuinely was without you. Love is a dangerous drug with intoxicating feelings as side effects. You may think being my shadow is terrible, but what is light without its darkness? What’s a life without the inevitable death? You must realize how much you mean to me, right? I even made this sappy speech for you. But

Blackwater Val

Blackwater Val

Gone—bodies, the sinkhole, all of it. “Christ Jesus.” A small reddish shape shot out of the shadows like a fireball, an animal of some kind. It flew from its hiding place so fast he nearly missed it before it was across the baseball field and away. Richard’s vision swam. He blinked his eyes rapidly, refocusing them. Dim lights hovered in the darkness on the other side of the river. Black water mirrored the churning, soot-gray sky above . . . water that would drown without mercy, claiming the living and the dead alike, the currents sucking them down. Take them straight to the river bottom, it would, ramming them against the rocks like so much sunken wreckage.

Probably the most challenging story I have written. With about 5 drafts and two years of crafting, it’s my longest work. It’s thrilling. I revisit it sometimes and, he, even I get overwhelmed and awed. I mean, it feels like I’m not the one who wrote it.

I love the world building of this novel! Even when you’re only in chapter one you can already see how the author meticulously planned the settings of the story. It’s descriptive so even if the world is new and unfamiliar the readers could still easily imagine what it’s like.

Moonlit Shadows

Moonlit Shadows

Ezra, the echo of cosmic wisdom tinged with urgency, warned, "The veil of shadows we face is not just a backdrop; it conceals the origins of the cosmic discord. In this chapter, we may unravel truths that challenge the very foundations of our existence." Liora, her pendant flickering with a newfound intensity, whispered, "The shadows whisper secrets older than creation. We may need to navigate through realms forgotten, facing not just the echoes of our choices, but the ancient echoes that resonate from a time when chaos and order were yet to be defined."

Moonlit Shadows

She takes my hand in hers and squeezes it gently. "We are werewolves, not monsters," she says softly. "Our pack is called the Shadows and is led by Gabriel Valley. He became our leader after his father's death some months ago." I sigh and turn to look at her. Her blue eyes look sad as she stares at me. "I promise you my child, you are not a monster. Being different is your greatest power," she whispers, grazing her fingers across my eyebrows. "You'll see," she adds with a faint smile. I stare at her drowning in my thoughts. I think about everything. Me. Them. The pack. I'd have sworn last night was just a dream but I know what I saw and felt. It was all too real. "Your father and I are going

Who am I

Who am I

There was no water to form the waterfall and the river that was supposed to be flowing with life, was completely desiccated. “What happened?” Layla asked as she looked at the sad picture below her. “Her.” The other version spoke, again leaving Layla confused with her ambiguous words. Layla looked up at her other version, but she was staring out into the distance. Layla looked at what she was staring at, it was a dark shadow. The image was unclear, but it didn’t matter, Layla wasn’t supposed to see what lurked on the other side of the river, but more like feel it – understand it. Layla could feel the evil, she could sense the danger that was radiating from the darkness, the heavy pain and sor

It will be a long road for them to heal and the scars we can’t see on their skin, will take the most time to fade. River goes on damage control when he sees I’ve inadvertently upset my mate. His voice is calm and gentle. “Shadow Ridge has more than just woods. There’s lots of trees, but there’s also clearings with houses and places to run and play, a nice lake to swim in with water so clear you can see the bottom. I’m sure in time, you’ll grow to like it there.”

A Mate Bond Hidden Under The Moonlight

A Mate Bond Hidden Under The Moonlight

The darkness behind my eyes shifted, swallowing everything until I wasn’t in the room anymore. I was back at the river. The river my mom had drowned. Cold water. Black. Endless. And there it stood. The shadow. But this time, I could see it clearly. It wasn’t just a shadow anymore. It had form. A massive wolf, larger than any I had ever seen. Its fur wasn’t fur at all but shifting darkness, like smoke woven into flesh. And its eyes… Blood red. Locked onto mine like it could see my soul. My chest tightened.

At night, she hears whispers in the water. On the third night, Evelyn sees a flickering light drifting down the river. She follows it—drawn by something she doesn’t understand—and finds a wooden boat with a burning lantern and an old journal inside. The pages are filled with entries from a woman named Alara who speaks of binding spells, river spirits, and a curse upon her bloodline. The last page is stained and unreadable

Running Away with Alpha's Baby Bump

Running Away with Alpha's Baby Bump

Light flared from his eyes, bright enough to burn through the fog. The Shadow screamed. The sound split the air, and the suspended river crashed down, sweeping across the clearing. I threw myself over Storm, the world vanishing into water and light. When I finally surfaced, gasping, the Shadow was gone. The river was calm again, too calm. Kael’s voice echoed faintly through the trees, calling my name. I pulled Storm closer. His body was limp, but he breathed. His eyes had gone dark again, the light burned out.
