For some unknown reason, my voice wobbled and I was nervous, but Raven listened intently. I finished, and she clapped her hands together like an excited child, making a smile spread across my face. "Wow, that was amazing! Do you think you'll get any royalties off of this one?" she asked cheekily, wiggling her eyebrows. I scoffed. "Probably not, but that doesn't matter to me. All that matters is that you liked my song." She smiled widely and I reached for her hands and held them. Her palms were warm and slightly sweaty

Sabine simply took a long swallow of what remained in her glass, daring him to escalate. A smooth, cold voice slid in from behind her. "Making friends already?" Sabine turned. Raven stood there in that sleek black dress, her mask tilted just enough to reveal a sharp little smile. Polished, dangerous, and just a little amused. Sabine's first instinct was to sneer, but the shared irritation glittering in Raven's eyes made her pause. "I don't do new friends," Sabine said. "Hell, I don't do friends, period. Especially not tonight."

It feels like tonight is dragging on, anxiety has gotten the better of me, and I just want to go home. " A penny for your thoughts." I hear Randa say to me. " I've been looking for you, I need a friend right now." I say hugging her. "What's going on Raven? " she looks at me with concern. " Oh Randa, Justice found his fated mate, she's here. I just feel frightened, I love him, I don't want to lose him." I say my voice is quivering. " The two of you made a promise to each other dear, I'm sure he'll reject her." she said in a comforting voice. " Who is she, do you know?" she asked.

“Oh yes, I’m all right. I guess the painting just startled me, that’s all.” Raven nodded her head and motioned to the man standing next to her. “This is my friend, Mikial and I think I told you before that my name is Raven.” She glanced at the painting. “Why does it startle you?” Pepper nodded her head at her, then turned her head again to stare at the painting. “Because I think that’s me,” she whispered. Mikial snapped his head toward her as did Raven. “Why would you think that?” Raven asked. “I mean it does look like you but what makes you think it is you?”

But she had done nothing to earn it. Unlike Ravina. Ravina had never cared about power. She had never needed to prove herself through manipulation or empty words. She had been a warrior, a protector, a leader in her own right. And I had thrown her away for this. My hands clenched into fists under the table. I was a fool. I turned back to the elders. “The mating ceremony is postponed.” A heavy silence fell over the room. Amira sprang up from her chair. "You can't do this!" She was shrill, frantic. "Do you know how this is going to make me look?"

“Bring the Black Coast shipment codes, the account access, and every fucking file you stole.” A sob caught painfully in my throat. What the hell were they talking about? “I swear I don’t know anything,” I whispered desperately. “I don’t even know who Ravens is.” One of the men barked out a laugh. “Damn. She really clueless.” “Not our fucking problem,” another muttered. The gun pressed harder into my skin and my breathing immediately turned shaky again. “You hear that, Ravens?” the man said into the phone. “Fourteen hours before we paint the floor with her brains.”

he said "let's talk about that much much later. How have you been?" And we kept talking. I think that was the longest call duration of my life and I was beaming with smiles all through. I glanced out of my window and just like that evening we'd first met, there was a beautiful illusion of the rainbow on the evening sky. This, could mean something for us. Rowen says. “Ma! Pop! You’re here. Please tell us you’ve got a plan to deal with that crazy-ass bitch out there!” he adds, wide-eyed. Looking out the window, I see a blood-red sky and hear the unearthly howls of fury echoing across the realm. Raven said. "Huh?" Saint raised a brow "You're Saint and you have a twin sister. You both are member of The Dark Bulls" Raven said with the usual unreadable expression on her face "How did you know?" Saint muttered, looking surprised. "I have my ways" Raven said, mimicking Saint. "Didn't know you knew how to joke" Saint chuckled and hung his arms round her shoulder Raven looked at his hand on her shoulder before looking at him. "Your arm" She said "What? We're friends right?" Saint smiled.

I watch the door open, Bear, Hawk and Doc walking in and sitting. “Take a look.” I watch as Grayson holds out the box and envelope. Why is he showing them? I stare at him. “Raven’s past is coming back, it’s someone who likes to kill those she is close to. So we’re calling in everyone, if we’re not with her, we need at least three more guys watching her closely.” “You said those she is close to?” Doc looks at us and we nod. “Yes, that includes Ava, so if we’re not going to be with Ava, we need more people around her.” I won’t let Grayson pretend like Ava isn’t a target.
