I looked up, meeting his gaze, fierce and unwavering. “You have it. Always.”
“I want it too,” he said, tension rising in his jaw, voice low and rough. “And I hate knowing that anyone else could take it, even for a second.”
I exhaled slowly, trying to calm the spark of frustration rising inside me. His jealousy wasn’t unreasonable, but it was fiery, consuming, and I could feel it radiating across the room. “Kael,” I said softly, placing my hand on his chest, “this isn’t a competition. You don’t need to claim me to feel secure.”
