It is clear that this is no ordinary table, but rather a crude device designed for one purpose: to inflict pain and suffering on its unfortunate occupants. The question now is? Who is this lady and what's all this about the masks and the coasters? What grudge or aim does she have against Daisy Louis? Just the sickening appearance of the room runs shivers down anyone's spine. This is a place of pure evil, a place where nightmares are made real and the boundaries of humanity are pushed to their limits. You can only imagine the unspeakable acts that have taken place within these walls, and not ever want to bear witness to them.

"I told you earlier that they have always been more her friends than mine. And not because I don't like them, but because the ages are different and we have different ideas of what recreation, fun, is." "I see." "Last month, Alexandra told me that she was advertising for a roommate position in her apartment. That she needed someone to talk to, that she was feeling a little lonely. I guess her friends were more distractions than anything else.... And that she needed someone who really understood her. Someone besides me." Emanuele nods and drinks a glass of water while Joshua takes a breath to continue the explanation.

The vodka-punch-mess I’m drinking. Then— “Seth would hate this playlist,” Ramon mutters, scrolling through the queue. “Guy’s got the music taste of a divorced dad going through a crisis.” My body tenses before I can think. Cup halfway to my mouth. Tracey glances at me. “You good?” “Yeah,” I say too quickly. “Just didn’t expect… that name to come up.” “Oh. Right. Roommate situation,” she says casually, then turns to the others. “Alex lives with my cousin.”

“Checking his pattern. This user bounced from Zurich to Korea to Quebec in twenty-three seconds. That’s Fox behavior.” Dominique stared at the message. I’ve missed the way you twitch. Her lips parted, dry. “I need to respond.” “No,” Damien said quickly. “Not yet. He’s baiting you.” She hesitated, then nodded. “Okay. But let me look around.” She entered one of the rooms—digital spaces designed like dungeon galleries. Scripts ran simulated interactions: voice-acted scenarios, animated reenactments, even logs of real encounters reposted anonymously. One room had no title. Just a number: Room 13.

My new roommate. “Hey,” I waved in her face, smiling. She spotted me instantly. “Teyana!” she grinned like she was truly happy to see me, tugging the girl beside her. “Oh my God, you’re here too.” I leaned forward. “Yeah! Uh—Carol, this is Stacy, my roommate.” Stacy nudged her friend forward, who smiled sweetly, dimples and all. “And this is Mariah.” Carol offered a lazy wave. “Hi.”

•.• Skylar •.• “I’m Room 16,” Harper said, staring at her phone. “Queens Hall.” She looked up at me. The school had sent out details of students’ dorm rooms and every other vital piece of information through email. “What room are you?” she asked, and I pursed my lips, staring down at my phone. “Room 17…” I was interrupted when Harper shrieked and threw her arms around me. “Our rooms will be right next to each other!” she grinned, and I cocked my head to the side.
