The Abandoned Luna's Return
They smiled at us as we walked by, their eyes bright and clear.
"Something is wrong," Silas whispered, his mouth close to my ear. "Do you see their necks?"
I looked closely at a young man who was picking flowers. Around his neck was a thin, silver collar. It wasn't a heavy chain like the wolves used. It was delicate, almost like jewelry.
"They're all wearing them," I whispered back.
"And look at the sky," Silas added.
I looked up. The sun was yellow, but there were faint, geometric lines etched into the blue of the sky. It wasn't a real sky. It was a dome. A massive, beautiful cage.
