Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Beast

Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Beast

I told Rowan. "Look!" Selene pointed ahead. In the middle of the white storm, something was rising. It wasn't a tree or a house. It was a massive, black **Tower** made of millions of stacked books. It reached so high into the white that the top was lost in the glare.

The Outcast Theory

The Outcast Theory

She found the staircase in forty seconds. It was behind a bookshelf on the far wall not a hidden door in the theatrical sense, no mechanism or drama to it, simply a shelf unit that had been positioned to cover a door and was attached to the wall with two brackets that, when released, allowed it to swing outward on the door's own hinges. The kind of concealment that worked not because it was clever but because nobody was looking for it.

Chosen By The Alpha

Chosen By The Alpha

"Alpha Charles ...!" Said Marco, they were already in the host's study. A room that is very minimalist and elegant, there are many bookshelves with unusual styles. There was even a hanging bookshelf… hanging in the air. Truly extraordinary. "I guess you're interested in my hanging bookshelf?" "Yes. This is wonderful! Considering that it can be used to store your many books! Extraordinary!" "I attached it with a metal so thin, and clear ... that it seemed to float."

The Kind Villain: A Legend of Woof-Woof

The Kind Villain: A Legend of Woof-Woof

"... Your bloody game makes no sense." "Unless you play it well." I step on another table, unleash my claws and attack him with it but he dodges. He rushes behind a bookshelf and uses it to block my path when I chase him. He pushes it against me while I hold it with one arm and another on the table behind me for support. The books are sliding and hitting me, and since the shelf was emptied it became lighter, I clawed it into two. These bookshelves are unbearable for humans because of their great weight and height. It's only a toy for Amos.

Alpha's Picture of Regret

Alpha's Picture of Regret

I felt rested and calm now, so I got off the bed and started making my way with Romy to the library. When we get there, it looks like a library from a classic black-and-white movie. The bookshelves were built-ins with thick mahogany columns carved between them. The shelves went from the floor to the ceiling, and there were those moveable ladders to get to the higher shelves. At the end of the library was a large fireplace. On each side was a floor-to-ceiling window with dark green curtains that hung from golden rods. There were four very large chairs that looked like they could double as beds, with plush upholstery. They were positioned in twos, with a small table between them to hold drinks

This book is FABULOUS! I just finished it, fast read, funny and quick witted characters that will keep you thoroughly entertained. I highly recommend not only this book but any of Buchanan’s books! I’m on to my next Buchanan read, I just can’t resist master B’s plot twists mixed with strong and fu…

Once again another fabulous book. This was different from the others and I loved it. Different concept but still strong female lead and strong support females. This relationship does have to overcome, but my attitude towards the male lead changed the more I got into. Thank you @buchanan. Great book!

The King's Mate

The King's Mate

The books were arranged like in the study room, from the floor to the ceiling – but this one was far more enormous than the latter. In the study room, there were built-in ladders on the side of each of the shelves to get the books she needed up to the ceiling. Unlike here, they were using wood ladders to get the needed books, most especially at the higher part of the shelf. It was better, though, because they could move it from one shelf to another. She loved to read, and she was really fascinated – it made her want to discover new things from the book itself. There were ten wooden rectangular tables placed in the center of the room – each had five wooden chairs with foam on it.

A Queen Among Darkness

A Queen Among Darkness

I shrug. She looks at me like I’ve grown two heads, “I’ve seen libraries. This isn’t a library. It looks more like an astronomy tower or something,” she argues, walking further in and looking up at all the ceiling that depicts our galaxy in motion. The room is circular, with a large open rotunda in the middle that has my desk, though it’s a bit of a mess right now. Bookshelves overflowing with books line the walls and several desks are scattered around the room. Okay so it’s more like astronomy meets an apothecary. “Well, it’s my library,” I say as I walk over to a shelf and look for a jar of bloodroot. I grab a pouch from a nearby desk and place the bloodroot in the pouch along with a knife

Denae O'Connor
This is by far my favorite book in this entire series. Not every author can write a same-sex relationship and make it so layered and nuanced instead of "corny". A.D. Burnell is a Queen Among Authors, and I can't wait until they get thr recognition they so thoroughly deserve.

One of the things i love about this series is that you think you know everything, and then you start the next book and so many layers are peeled back that blow your mind. it makes this the most addictive series ever

Forgotten Embers

Forgotten Embers

There were dark metal stairs which lined the glass front of the towering structure, winding around the perimeter of the square base upward, and she speedily began to climb them up to the resource floors. The resource floors were different, and the first on which she now emerged had the added help of a librarian's desk. The room was large with high ceilings of tinted glass reinforced with maurium. There were bookshelves strategically placed throughout the floor, lining nearly every wall with some found in between. There were rolling ladders attached to a shelf on every wall for the sake of acquiring the higher levels of resources. There were small tables and padded armchairs arranged througho

The Dragon King's Human Mate

The Dragon King's Human Mate

Not here. The room was circular, like the tower but vastly larger, rising through what must have been three or four floors of the palace before reaching a ceiling that was lost in the same high shadows as the throne room. Bookshelves covered every inch of the curved walls from floor to ceiling, interrupted only by narrow iron balconies at each level connected by spiral staircases, and by tall arched windows set at intervals that let in the mountain light in long pale shafts that fell across the shelves and the reading tables below in patterns that shifted slowly as the morning progressed. The smell of it was extraordinary. Old paper and older leather and something underneath that I could onl

Adding beauty and functionality to its construction. She slid one of the high ladders on its rusted metal wheels. Opting to review higher shelves on the bottom level rather than taking those stairs. He winced at the sound grating in his sensitized ears. Making the delicate drum thrum with the sound. He tilted his head to tuck it against his shoulder and blocked the other with a palm. Perhaps it has been a bit since I oiled them. *** Elsabet tentatively stepped under one of the many archways. This one completely filled with curving shelves which were laden with heavy red and brown leather volumes, beckoning to share their knowledge.
