Breakfast ended more slowly than I expected. Aurelia insisted on showing me the drawing she'd made after the reception. It consisted mostly of flowers, three smiling stick figures, and what she assured me was a very accurate wolf. "It has four tails," I pointed out. "It was excited." "I see." Kael glanced at the page. "I've never met a wolf with four tails." "You haven't met this one." "I stand corrected." Apparently satisfied, Aurelia folded the drawing with great care before announcing she intended to keep it forever.

Recently. Wolf. Jaxon tensed immediately. “We’re not alone.” Riley nodded and stepped inside. On the far side of the train car, tucked beneath the metal bench, was a rolled-up canvas. Riley pulled it out. It was a painting. Rough. Charcoal and oil. It showed a wolf standing in a firelight. Alone. With a mark carved across its chest. Jaxon crouched next to her. “That’s your mark.” She flipped it over. On the back was a single phrase:

She turned away quickly, pretending she hadn’t just been ogling me. We went outside and split up, shifting behind the bushes. I shifted into Ronan, his midnight-black fur shimmered under the sunlight. He was massive, and I only hoped he wouldn’t intimidate her wolf. Then she stepped out, and I froze. The most stunning wolf I had ever seen—rusty brown fur, green eyes that gleamed like stars. No fear in her gaze, only admiration and love. She leapt, licking Ronan’s nose, and he lowered his head, pressing his forehead to hers before licking her snout.

The air smelled like crayons and kid shampoo and that faint, indefinable pup‑scent that made her wolf settle even on the worst days. Luna was starfished across her little bed, one foot dangling out from under the blanket, wolf plush clamped under her chin. A new drawing lay on the nightstand, weighted by a plastic cup. Lyra picked it up carefully. Three wolves this time. One small, silver‑flecked, in the middle. One dark, teeth bared on the left—labeled, in wobbly letters, *mama*. One taller, with a crooked line for a leg and a big stick—labeled, painstakingly, *stoRm*.

From the sour scent that emitted from the wolf, it was evident that it was a rogue. Drex's blood boiled at the sight of his so-called mate being attacked by a rogue. Without thinking twice, he took control, running to the rogue and pushed it off the omega. The rogue's growl at Drex increased Drex's rage and he snapped the rogue's head off its body.

“Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. When your mind wanders, gently acknowledge the thought and let it go. Visualize and feel and connect with what’s inside you. It's going to be peaceful for only a second,” Roxie sighed tiredly and with a roll of her eyes, she closed them and felt the sensation of air moving in and out of her body. Her mind went blank and her head went light, it was peaceful and quiet like Jarivs said. Did he use magic? She wondered. Then suddenly, everything went blank. As their meeting finally came to an end, I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder at the walls adorned with drawings and paintings. The images depicted wolves in various forms, some in fierce battle stances, and others in moments of tranquility. But what struck me the most were the drawings that seemed eerily familiar. I walked closer to one of them, my heart quickening as I realized that the wolf in the drawing was striking a fighting stance that mirrored one I had often used. It was as if the artist had captured my movements with uncanny precision.

Roxanne's POV: The tingles that spread throughout my body made me and my wolf feel safe and very calm. A smile formed on my face as I inhaled his amazing scent deeply. It wasn't my intention to embrace him out of the blue. But seeing him try to comfort me in his own cold way made me want to cling to him for just a few minutes, even if he were to push me away. As I closed my eyes, I waited for the moment he would push me away or warn me off harshly as he usually did. When a few minutes went by without him doing anything, I opened my eyes and smiled as my wolf purred happily at how our mate wanted our closure as well.

I hear a growl slip out and then I wink at him and walk away. ‘THAT WAS GREAT REBEL! WE ARE GONNA DRIVE HIM WILD!’ Roxie shouts in my mind. ‘You think so Roxie? This is all so new to me.’ I ask her. ‘YES REBS! EVEN CRONOS IS PANTING!’ I laugh again and this time Lacy looks at me with an eyebrow raised. “My wolf loved what I did out there. Said that Austin’s wolf is panting too.” I told her. She started laughing again, “Yeah, he is! You are a total babe Rebel. Flaunt it!” she says encouragingly.

He said seeming in a better mood now. "Plus you get to be here for this amazing artist over here" I said looking over Aleah's shoulder to see the picture she was drawing. She was drawing a big black blob with four lines coming out from the bottom of it and it was standing next to her. "Is that a doggy?" I asked her pointing to the blob. "No it's a wolf" She said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Oh that's amazing! What's the wolf's name?" I asked her. "It's Cyrus like my Daddy" She said. "Wow that's cool" I said with a smile.
