Connie blinked. “What can I say? My wife is hot,” I chuckled, smiling. I took my phone out and turned it to them. My wallpaper was a picture of Riko and the kids at the hospital after Ryū was born. Riko doesn’t like the photo, but I think she looks fucking gorgeous. It was the day after Ryū was born, so she’d at least gotten a chance to clean up but was still in a hospital gown and looked a little tired. Despite how tired she was, her smile was so bright and genuine.

Aiden nodded and followed the man in. The room was beautiful and neat, with a great view of the lake and mountain in the distance. Uncle Jin said, “See that mural there?” Aiden turned his attention to see a beautiful Japanese mural on the wall. It was of a beautiful girl with long silky black hair and pale skin, wearing numerous layers of colorful kimonos. Surrounding her were some sort of spiritual animals—a golden dragon, a silver fox, a white snake, and a black cat. “That’s a beautiful piece,” Aiden said.

This made me scared. "Please, who are you?" I asked in the most polite way possible. I did not want to annoy the woman; she was unbalanced. "Ah, finally asking me the right question." She said, smiling. She cleared her throat, I knew it was all an act, but nonetheless, it made me more attentive. "I am Ruhun Daji, and my name is Kurwa, the spirit of nature, good fortune, bliss and wellness."

The room’s size was probably twice the ordinary size of 3x3 room. There was a square table on one side of the room where teacups and teapots were put and a bench of snacks near the wall across from the door. This was a Japanese styled home, so the tables had short feet to accommodate the sitting norm. There was also a weird white blanket that looked fluffy as a cloud a few feet to the right of the door and there were three creatures playing on top of it, namely Shoru, Rita, and what seemed like a big sized red dragonfly with unique wings.

What caught his eye, though, were the walls. They weren’t plain. Painted murals covered them—floral vines curling up corners, bursts of wildflowers across panels, a soft mountain range blooming into a pastel sky, a tree growing from the shape of a heart. There were framed paintings, too. Small ones. Dreamy portraits, abstract shapes, gentle landscapes. Everything felt… alive. It was like stepping into Riah’s mind. Creative. Unpretentious. Full of life. Riah closed the door behind them and slipped off her shoes. “Come in. Sorry, it’s a bit cramped.”

Its color was silver. His lock screen was an image from the Japanese anime Death Note; in particular, the genius character Yagami Light and his shinigami (reaper) Ryuk. His wallpaper showed a handsome man in a suit standing in front of a sports car. With the car, Dion would get on famously with her pa, Kate thought, but not so much with the suit. Mr. Lapuz, like majority of Filipino dads, didn’t own a single suit in his wardrobe.

Henry That's a relief... good thing she didn't see that. Why did I even set that as my wallpaper. I just found her cute that's why... right? I opened my phone and exit all apps. I see the photos are open- I guess Kou used my phone again to take pictures of Yui earlier and blame it on me again. Just as I exit them all. I saw my wallpaper. I can't seem to help but smile a little. Gumi's cheeks were really chubby back then. Still, I can't believe I used it as my wallpaper.

Yet this does not resemble anything dark and grey like I thought it would. It’s pretty, the walls are covered in soft blue wallpaper that matches the sofa, decorated with cherry blossom and peacocks. It’s stunning, I wonder how much something like that costs to cover the walls. A flat screen television hangs off the wall currently it is playing with a crackling fire scene, it’s warm and cozy lending itself to make me feel like kicking these damn uncomfortable shoes off my feet and curl up on the sofa with a neat whiskey in my hand. It’s late, I should go to bed, but my arousal needs to be satisfied first.
