Nikki yelled back at him. I hear them dragging a chain, banging the door. Then I hear Justin mention, “The door is chained! There is a lock on it! Can you do something about it?” Nikki yells back at him, again, “Why are you yelling!? Just… STEP BACK! Let me handle this!” The next moment, I hear lock picking. “What? What are you doing?” asked Justin, “You know how to pick a lock!? Nikki, you are so imprisoned!” “Then I will tell the judge you’re the one who asked me to learn and do it!” Nikki yelled back, “Shouldn’t you be thanking me for this now!?”

“The kind that get people hurt.” She studies me for a long second, then takes a sip of coffee. “Relax, Nick. I’m not trying to corrupt you.” “Good,” I say too fast. She leans back against the counter opposite me, crossing her arms under her chest like she knows exactly what it does to my focus. “So what happens if I break a rule?” “Then we talk about it,” I say. “Like adults.” She hums. “No punishment?” I glare at her. “You’re not funny.”
