Runaway Luna: Claimed By Two Novels & Stories

"I cannot believe that two of my most dimwitted soldiers captured the Highridge Pack's Luna!" It was an unfamiliar voice. I was relieved that it was not Gretta, though. I chastised myself for that awful thought. Of course, Gretta won’t hurt me. She would never put her niece and me in danger. I had to remind myself that I was still in huge danger, though. Knowing they could kill me anytime they wanted. As the only candidate to become the Highridge Pack’s Luna, killing me means it will weaken Caden. And that will give them a huge opportunity to attack my mate and his territory.

I typed in waning moon pack and different links popped up, I clicked on the first one I saw, its title grabbing my attention: RUNAWAY IN CAHOOTS WITH RAIDERS. The Waning Moon pack had recently survived a raid only to discover one of their wolves missing. The Alpha’s son, Adrian, who had reportedly been a witness to the runaway assisting the raiders pack things- steal from the pack. The runaway in question was an orphan that the pack had taken in and looked after as one of their own. It is hard to believe that the goodwill of this pack could turn around and betray them. Goes to show you that there was only so much good a person could do, yet it would still be responded to with evil.

But before they had a chance to get fired up, the Luna began to speak again. "The cursed Luna clan is a plague," she continued. "For the safety of our pack, we need to capture the red wolf and lock her up immediately!" I was so shocked, that I didn't even have time to react before they all descended on me.

I scrunched my eyebrows but continued nonetheless. “Guys, I was able to sense more about the rogues. They are splitting up, making lots of camps so they don’t come off as obvious. And one camp has the leaders. The top three strongest, PLUS a fourth, who I was able to determine is the Luna! They are being organized and run by both a man and a women, a mated pair. Which explains why the pups are being saved! It’s the Luna’s rule, not the Alpha’s!” I was going to continue but Alex had looked up finally and he looked away to the wall instead of at me.

The girl nodded, she thought if the woman knew maybe she could solve the mystery that was happening now. In a few minutes, Aron told Yura about what happened during the full moon. Yura wasn't surprised at all. His guess was not wrong in the slightest. "Welcome princess Jessy to the world of wolves." Yura smiled, hearing her mother call Jessy a princess made Aron and Jessy even more confused. What Yura said again invited questions from the two of them.

I didn’t look at him. “You did what had to be done,” he said, firm, steady. “For yourself. For her. And for the pack.” I clenched my jaw. “Even if she hates me for it?” Trevor let out a short breath, shaking his head. “She was never meant to be your Luna.” His eyes met mine. “And you know that.” The truth of it settled between us. Crystal was gone. Enough. Crystal was gone. That chapter was closed. Now, I had a pack to protect.

I opened my social media, scrolling mindlessly through updates from pack members and acquaintances. And then I froze, my thumb hovering over the screen as a headline caught my eye. It had been posted just twenty minutes ago on one of the unofficial pack news accounts: “Luna Kayla, the Wolfless Luna, is Pregnant; But for How Long?”

The man he called Alpha Ronan glanced at me before turning to Lucien. “A rogue?” he asked. I know they are talking about me. The way that old man looked at me was filled with disgust…or maybe hatred. I am technically a rogue since I ran away from my pack but I wasn’t feral. I may be an orphan but Luna Amara raised me to be a modest woman who will be worthy to be her son's Luna. She was my mother figure and if she were still alive she would probably take my side. She would probably not believe Stephanie's lie.
