Bright James’s basement smelled of damp earth and rusty metal. A bare lightbulb flickered over the hunter’s face, tied to a chair with thick rope. His dark, cold eyes showed not a hint of fear. I stood in front of him, arms crossed, while the rest of the pack formed a silent semicircle. Rage burned in my throat, but I forced myself to breathe.
