"What exactly are you hiding from me, Ryder?" Ryder clicked his tongue softly, rubbing the back of his neck in slight frustration. "I'm sorry. I just hadn't found the right time to tell you." His voice shifted, becoming incredibly soft, laced with pure persuasion. "I want to take you away from all this mess, Baby. Canada is peaceful, the air is clean, and I have a beautiful place there. We can spend time together, have fun, and let you forget all your burdens in Chicago for a while. I just want you to be safe."

Ryder I came to campus. Your stuff is still at cheer. Thought we were meeting after practice? I stared at the screen. Maya came back in with two glasses and handed me one. “You okay?” I hesitated. “It’s Ryder. He’s… asking where I am.” She raised a brow. “You guys dating?” I laughed a little, shaking my head. “It’s… complicated. No. He is just...a caring Stepbrother." Maya sat beside me, humming. “He’s protective.”

His cousin sat sprawled on the couch, his legs stretched out, his expression grim. Brayden raised an eyebrow as he shrugged off his jacket. “To what do I owe the pleasure?” Ryder didn’t answer right away. Instead, he looked up at him with tired eyes. “You got any wine?” Brayden studied him for a moment before nodding. “Red or white?” “Neither. Something strong. Toxic, if possible. I need to clear my head.” Brayden let out a small chuckle. “That bad?” “You have no idea,” Ryder muttered.

Marcus bowed once more before leaving the room, the door clicking shut behind him. Ryder let out a long breath. He walked over to his large wooden wardrobe and pulled out a fresh white shirt. He pulled it over his broad shoulders, the fabric stretching tightly across the thick muscles of his chest and back. He didn't bother buttoning the top three buttons, leaving the rough, dark hair of his chest visible. He strapped a silver-hilted dagger to his leather belt and grabbed his heavy black jacket. Just before leaving, something on the table caught his eye.

Ry shrugged, and he wasn't even giving Judah his full attention. "I was hoping to get a sleeve done someday. But it's probably not gonna be for a while. I'm putting all my money on my bike right now," Judah was still enthusiastic in his replies. "You ride?" Ryder's eyes lit up all of a sudden. Oh, right. Ryder was also into bikes. For the first time this entire dinner, Ryder actually looked enthused. "Yeah, a 1993 Ducati Monster. I parked it outside," "Oh, dude, that's a classic," his voice warmed up.

Ryder says then takes a drink of his sweet tea. “How are your husbands and wife?” Lidia asks him. Ryder is in a polyamorous relationship with his wife Natalie and his two husbands Jaxson and Etienne. Natalie is also living a reverse harem dream with those three men and two others, Callum and Dominic. It’s an odd relationship but they are all so perfect together. They are for sure #relationshipgoals for me.

I raised an eyebrow. “This is… your filing system?” Ryder snorted softly. “I’m an engineer. I know where ore is and how to extract it safely and economically. I also did marketing… once. But I’m not an accountant.” “You could hire someone,” I said honestly. He fell silent for a moment, then dropped himself into a chair, making it creak. “I never thought of it.” He rubbed his face. “I think there’s something I missed here. Something I might be able to use as solid evidence.”

Zane said beside me, I agree with his decision. He was powerful and was going to be crowned as the emperor while I was a normal magical physician. Rhyker was an often regarded and greatly praised god. Winter, time and jewels are crucial elements this divine being is associated with and most would regard him as modest and blunt. “That’s great. Drive to Daciana Peak. I have a feeling they wouldn’t want to change their location. It’s closest to the moon in our pack.” Ryder gripped the wheel as he pushed the car nearly beyond its limits. “I let them down,” he ground out. “Nothing’s happened yet, Ryder. You haven’t let anyone down.” “Everything’s such a mess, Odessa. I should be at my game. I blew it off because I needed to see her. I needed to feel my pup’s presence before she left. That’s how important they are to me.” I squeezed his arm. “Rex’s sending back-up.”

But she also knew that he was trying to help them. "Elijah," she said softly, her voice breaking the silence. "We appreciate your help. But we need to know what we're getting ourselves into. Can you at least tell us what we're up against?" Elijah's expression didn't change, but Maya saw a flicker of something in his eyes. It was a hint of approval, of respect. "Ryder's organization is bigger than you think," Elijah said finally, his voice low. "They have connections all over the city, and they'll stop at nothing to get what they want."
