So then you will know what I’m talking about.” Scarlet zoned out, as her thoughts turned back to Sage. She thought again of last night, of all that he told her, of who he was, who his family was. She remembered that orb he had created, in her palm, remembered watching it float away. She believed him. It was obvious, he was not like anybody else. And she felt in her heart that the two of them were meant to be together. Two immortals. Two different types of creatures. Unlike anyone else on earth. They were destined for each other.

Sage cringed and let out a strained bark of laughter. “That's fascinating.” My lips parted in awe. Knowing that these people are all inhumane and predatory species did not scare me. It's like a familiar piece of information to my brain. “What can you do then? Do you shift on full moons?” My tone couldn't hide the curiosity and amusement. Sage let out a husky chuckle and yes it is sexy as hell. I saw a movement on my side. It was Izaac's intense gaze darted towards Sage like he's going to rip him open anytime now.

They also only met twice when Justin replaced one of the five wolf-shifters. Sassy got to the orphanage and locked herself inside her room. She decided to leave the orphanage now, as she had gotten a little savings. She wouldn't be happy living there again. But before she did that, She first of all went to take her bath as she smelled like Alpha Murphy. When she took off her clothes, she realized her bruises had healed. "Sage, what happened here?" She asked. "The mate bond has been severed. There's no link between you two anymore." Sage responded.

She winked, “He tells me all the time you’re too stubborn.” I wasn’t sure what conversation they were sharing but it seemed to make sense to them both as Sage took another look around as if there was some invisible inventory she needed to take, knowing her though, maybe there was. “What about you?” Hectyr turned to me. “What about me?” “Come get me after.” Sage whispered. “Umm… okay?” I cocked my head to the side. “That tight of a leash then?” Hectyr called, causing her to pause with her foot on the top of the stairs.

The man in front of me quickly turned behind him. His name is Sage? Did Sage deny that he's not the one who marked me? My heart turned into pieces when Sage totally turned his back on me. He didn’t even bother to look at me. What am I going to do now?

I stuttered, but he ignored me, I wasn't important to him anymore, he now cared about his mate and not me. “From today, Sage is sent into exile, she is no longer welcome in this pack nor known as a member,” he announced sending a chill down my spine, no I can't become a rogue if he “Zach please.." but he didn't glance my way and just proceeded with his speech. “She is now known as a rogue… throw her out of the pack this instant!” My eyes widened, I tried rushing toward him, but firm arms gripped my hands, no matter how I struggled their grip was firm.

Lore raced through the air, following the Hudson, heading toward where he knew Sage must be. There was only one place Sage could be if he wasn’t at Scarlet’s side: the recharging stone. Of course Sage would go there. It made perfect sense. Sage, the stupid romantic that he was, refused to feed on humans, to suck out their energy, and he would be weaker than the others of their kind. He would need energy, especially with them all dying, and especially if he wanted to spend his last days with Scarlet before he died.
