We’re so close, my lips nearly graze his as I quietly say, “I don’t scare so easily, Mr. Richards. Though, I will contend that your timing was impeccable this morning, and I’d be remiss not to express my appreciation for your assistance.” “Remiss, hmm?” One corner of his tempting mouth quirks. It’s that sardonic, half-assed grin he gives when he’s amused, but doesn’t really want to reveal how much he’s amused. Admittedly, he’s a master at retaining the upper hand. Just one more thing that’s so disarming about him.

A low, rumbling laugh broke the comfortable silence. “Damn,” he chuckled, a wide, boyish grin spreading across his face. “We’re a mess.”

The next thing I knew, he was smirking at me indulgently. I bit my lip to keep from descending into hysteria once I caught his stare. An uneasy feeling began in my stomach. I started to fidget. I did not like the way he was staring at me with that look on his face. "I like you." His voice took on a sardonic tone as he flashed me what I believe was his most sardonic grin. "I'll get you by hook or by crook." The cynical grin playing across his lips widened and shone with a malicious glee. He was up to something.

He grumbled as he sipped from his drink once again. Sedar closed his eyes and counted to three; when he opened them again, his sky blue eyes returned after being masked by a deep shade of grey. "I apologise, my friend." He spoke with a clenched jaw that ticked. "Don't worry, man, I was due for a reminder. I had a feeling it was going to happen." He laughed as one side of his lip curled up. Sedar laughed, "FUUCKKER!" He slapped him on the back of the head for being such a cocky bastard.

Soren, you'd better not disappoint me. A wicked grin spread across Soren's face as he said, "You won't when you see him."
